immediately after an interaction: i have GOT to get more normal oh god i need to get more normal immediately i have to get more normal or they're going to hunt me down they're going to hunt me down and flay me for sport
during an interaction: and why not put a little spin on it? why not add some conversational zest?

“Campus,” the sixth song on Vampire Weekend, was written by keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij before the band was ever formed. The version that appears on the album is very different from Batmanglij’s original version, presented here. Instead of an indie rock track with Afropop influence, “Campus” appears here with no guitars or keyboards, and minimal drums, all replaced by a luscious string ensemble. Batmanglij’s vocal delivery is softer than Koenig’s, and the song takes a completely different attitude from the final version that appears on Vampire Weekend.
this track and an instrumental version of it are now available on bandcamp and half the proceeds are going to Palestine Legal, Chirla, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and Sudanese American Physicians Association
