i genuinely love the trope of "character that gets unfairly accused of not caring because their facade makes them seem so nonchalant and unconcerned even though they do care a Whole Lot and they struggle to fight back against that perception of them because it means being vulnerable about it in a way they arent ready for" and i do think its a little sad it got attributed to donnie when it's such a leo thing. like that Is his thing

like i mean tbf i do think leo is very nonchalant and that's kind of his baseline, he's not perpetually stressed like a lot of people like to act like he is, but i do think a lot of raph/leo episodes kind of lay out that there's this assumption from raph that leo somehow cares Less because he prefers to mess around (and isnt as openly sensitive as mikey is), and it leads to raph kind of being skeptical of leo on principle,, and i think that's a really interesting conflict, especially if you wanna make sense of the movie and kind of see it as leo falling back on that perception of him in an attempt to shake the responsibility that's fallen on his shoulders. because leo at the beginning of the movie was acting what raph THOUGHT he was like for a lot of the show, yknow?
