I was bullied for being gay long before I knew I was a lesbian and came out. So idk why ppl are pretending lesbians who come out later didn’t experience homophobia until they came out. 🤔
Being called a dyke every morning when I got on the bus in sixth grade and being bullied in the locker room just didn’t actually happen to me bc I’m not a gold star I guess lmfao.
Ohhhh my god yeah my last name is pronounced dyke. And let me tell you. Children aged 7-15 HEAVILY used that against me. I didn't know what they meant or why they always taunted me by chanting my last name at me!!! I told my dad and cried abt it and he didn't tell me what it meant just that they were being mean.
I hate this fucking discourse. I was called a dyke by the man my mother dated who molested me when I was 4. I was sexually assaulted for being gay by two children boys I knew when I was 7. I was abused at my Christian school and church for being gay when I was 8. I didn't know I was gay until I was 14, and by then I was so full of internalized homophobia and self hatred that I continued to flirt with, make out with, and fuck around with boys BC I thought I had to to be a good person deserving of respect lmao. I couldn't stop this until I was prostituted & then uh couldn't bear the thought of any man ever perceiving of my being ever again.

I'm in my early 20s and generally eat whatever I want whenever I want it, which means that I eat quite frequently. My mom has mentioned several times that she thinks I should be watching what I eat now, because if I gain weight as a young adult I won't be able to lose it in middle age. You have a lot of studies about how dietary restriction doesn't work, but do those apply to people at a "normal" weight trying to keep it? (I gained weight about a year ago, but it's been constant since then).
Normal eaters eat what they want, when they want. They eat foods that make them feel good**. Normal eaters eat frequently and they eat “a lot” of food. They naturally gravitate to eating a wide range of foods, though it is also normal to have periods where you eat a lot of one kind of thing and less of others. Normal eaters do not “watch” what they eat. They do not restrict. They are flexible. They trust their bodies.
There is no reliable evidence that “watching” what you eat improves health. There is no reliable evidence that restriction – under any of the fancy-schmancy names we give it – supports better health or helps people to maintain their weight throughout their lives. There is lots of evidence that restriction causes disordered eating and eating disorders that undermine health.
There is no evidence that people can safely control their body weight in the long-term. There is lots of reliable evidence that trying to control your body weight disrupts the body’s natural weight-regulation mechanisms and leads to poor health.
Your body is going to be the size it wants to be. If your weight is stable and you are eating a wide range of foods that you enjoy, that make you feel good, without restriction, then the odds are good that your body is happy at its set point. Good for you. Ignore your mom.
