white lgbt ppl will constantly have to be informed about racism and nonwhite issues bc they're only ever friends w other white people, speak over lgbt ppl of color when it comes to representation and problems in media, not acknowledge when white supremacy feeds into intracommunity bigotry. and then say things like "the lgbt community shouldn't be at odds with each other! 😤" i don't know if you guys know how big a split there is between you and us at the best of times

@salt-gremlin @babygirlalaura understand that this is a complicated process that you will fuck up. learn how to apologize for those fuckups without turning it into a groveling session or making it all about you. understand that most of the time, the best thing you can do when poc are speaking is hold your tongue, even if you're adding something positive. unless we are asking for it, your input will probably be redundant and distract other white people from the points we were making in the first place.

follow and talk to people of color, not just because you want to learn, but because you like them. dont treat us like we're fucking here just to inform you. we will talk about the issues that are important to use and you'll learn more from treating us as peers than learning about racism through a white middleman or only following us when you deem us educational enough. support trusted organizations, grassroots efforts, and individuals in need, preferably monetarily.

look into lgbt history and how poc, especially Black trans women in american LGBT history, have bolstered the community. also, for lgbt specific issues, understand that white supremacy is perpetuated by lgbt people all the time, especially prevalent in transphobia/transmisogyny when trans and gnc poc are harassed for not conforming to white-centric gender roles.
