DIY Beard Oil recipe by @eco.now.ca 🍃 First, grab an amber or cobalt blue 4 oz. dropper bottle. Then, you will need the following carrier oils: 1 oz. of jojoba oil, 1 oz. of argan oil, and 1 oz. of hemp seed oil. You can mix and match carrier oils to your preference. Lastly, you add the following essential oil: 0.1 oz. of cedarwood oil. You can mix and match essential oils to your preference as well but you want to follow a dilution percentage of 3-5% of your solution to be essential oil. Any essential oil dilution above 5% will be too harsh. So 0.1 oz. of essential oil to 2-3 oz. of carrier oils will suffice. To apply, just drop a nickel size amount into your palm and massage into the skin underneath your beard with your fingertips. Massage into the beard to ensure total coverage. 💘 Love is in the air 💘 Some of you may have heard but for those of you who have not, at the beginning of the new year our owner Thea got engaged! To add to the excitement, her diamond is Lab grown! We wanted to take the opportunity to shed a little light on the environmental differences between a lab grown and mined diamond. For those of you who are unfamiliar with diamonds, at this time there are two methods of sourcing diamonds, one is the traditional method where diamonds are mined from the Earth and the other is a newer method of making diamonds in a lab under extreme pressure and heat. Here are some key differences in environmental impacts between the two methods: • A mined diamond often consumes more gallons of water per carat than a lab grown one • Lab grown diamonds tend to have a much smaller carbon foot print • Mined diamond can disrupt land, impact biodiversity, and can even make land unusable • Mined diamonds can have a negative impact on human workers from cancer risks, hearing loss, lung problems, and even cause death Things to note when considering purchasing a lab grown diamond. You’ll want to learn where the diamond is being made and is it in a facility that uses renewable energy. There are no chemical differences between the two types of diamonds. Lab grown diamonds are often more affordable than traditionally mined diamonds. We are sooo happy for both Thea & Tommy! We have linked up with a local organization that offers @terracycle and we will be collecting hard to recycle items at our Anaheim location until February 1st. Please empty, clean, and dry these items as best as possible before dropping them off! The following will be accepted: 1.) Beauty Care Packaging (including cosmetics) containers made of plastic, glass, aluminum, or mixed materials 2.) Dental Care Products (toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash containers) 3.) Eye Care Products (contact solution bottles, contact cases, eye drop containers) If you’ve been holding onto these items hoping to properly recycle them we are here for you!
