these kinds of magics are probably gonna be spoken more in depth in the game so this is an au kind of thing and it will be explained below
Her education was formally cut short during her second year at The Academy of Eswia, a prestigious girls' college in a distant realm founded by the first witch, Eswia. She was expelled for practicing illegal magic, a broad category known as the Dark Arts which encompasses any spellwork designed to physically mutilate, dismember, or cause deliberate harm to the self or others, (different from Signature spells being used *for* harm, not that it is harm) including occultism and harmful sacrifices. Those who practice such arts in the modern era are derogatorily labelled "Graven mages." It was her mother, a self-proclaimed witch who embraced archaic traditions, who first introduced Diancy to these rituals before her divorce from Crowley.
To amplify her signature spell, "Flock of Treachery," Diancy performed a sacrifice to an unknown entity, offering her left ring finger and a graft of skin from her back. This act permanently stained the skin of her fingers a dark greyish-purple but granted her the power she craved. Initially, the spell allowed for clumsy control over ravens and their feathers, an agonizing process for the birds as she manipulated them through their quills so she doesn't use it often unless there are feathers lying about. Post-sacrifice, her command is absolute. She can now effortlessly direct massive flocks of feathers, hardening them into razor-sharp projectives or cohesive shields. The spell's ultimate evolution allows her to dissolve her own body, part or whole, into a swirling vortex of feathers (kind of like a mix of Konan and gothic Hawks lmao)
This single-minded obsession with power concerns her father. Dire Crowley, who had previously "homeschooled" her with the board's permission, now conducts her "lessons" within his office or their home, a necessary arrangement since her tainted record as a Graven mage bars her from any reputable institution. Crowley pampers her excessively and loves her dearly, though his own dabbling in questionable magic and poor work ethic hardly make him a paragon of virtue. The only time his doting facade cracked was upon discovering her self-mutilation; his genuine distress was so profound it gave Diancy pause.
At NRC, Diancy cultivates a kind, hopeful, and friendly demeanour towards the students, a stark contrast to the general avoidance she endures as a known Graven mage. She affects an air of nonchalance towards campus dramas, dismissing them as not her business, and frequently bickers with her father with playful indignation. This persona is a meticulously crafted lie. In truth, she is a cruel, masochistic, and sadistic fae, her kindness a thin veil for malicious ulterior motives.
She is obsessed with Yuu for reasons still ambiguous.
she likes whole cakes, no fondant. That her father has to buy a separate cake for "friends" or a slice for himself on her birthdays.
She is a mixed listener of music, She'd nod her head to metal in one moment and then waltz to classical in the next.
People who try to sanitize the Outlast fandom may as well try it with a turd and see the results.
And I'm mostly a fan of the characters like Clyde, Jeremy and Dr Easterman—an underwhelming bunch compared to a sum of the characters in these franchises. it's not hard to not interact, scroll, or block sht you don't like.
Just let freaks enjoy their sick game and characters. I don't wanna fck Coyle anymore or want him to shove his crackle wand up my a$$ but fans of his aren't really hurting anyone from what I recall And they get notorious sht back in the infamous tiktok or a sum of other platforms— I'm the kind of person who doesn't care about problematics with fiction unless they are those kinds of people who can't differentiate fiction and reality—so you can take my rant with a grain of salt but this is just a reminder that no fandom that don't have no freaks or weirdos.
So what if most Outlast/Outlast trials OC's are just victims of their canon partner? So what if they aren't well written? Are they made and written specifically for you or something? So what if the majority of OCs in the community are "shtty"? Did you pay them with your money to make that OC and now your day was ruined?
You can dislike something but ruining and attempting to stomp on the enjoyment of others that doesn't really harm anyone is turd behavior and you shouldn't be in a community or fandom in the first place imo. With the growth poop heads unable to not interact with fictional things you don't like in the internet comes with the growth of disdain and bashing for fans who like problematic fictional characters, it is sad to see they crawled their way in here...
