This photo was taken at nearly 4 a.m. last Wednesday, an hour after we decided our debut album, In Love With A Goth, was officially finished.
In this moment, I'm happy, exhausted, and incredibly hopeful.
For the past year, we've been sharing pieces of this story one song at a time. On Friday, the full album finally arrives, including five songs that no one has heard before.
What makes this record special to me isn't just the music. It's that every song was created side by side with the person I love. Late nights, notebooks filled with ideas, endless discussions about melodies and lyrics, laughter, disagreements, and the quiet certainty that we were building something together.
This album tells the story of our beginning—of finding one another, creating together, and discovering that some connections are powerful enough to change the course of a life.
And while this chapter is finally complete, we're already writing the next one. New songs are coming this fall, and we're more inspired than ever.
On a personal note, if you're a woman (or anyone, for that matter) who has ever felt too strange, too dark, too awkward, too unconventional, or simply not enough because of the impossible standards constantly placed in front of us—please remember that real love doesn't require perfection. You don't need filtered beauty, a flawless life, or someone else's definition of who you should be. You do not need to feed your dopamine hunger with the number of "Likes" you are given. Four years ago, I would not have dared post such an image. Luckily, I've wisened up and its been a hard-earned victory.
I promise you, that you are enough. We all are.
You deserve to be loved exactly as you are.
