Shout-out to the Good Doctors/medical practitioners
A shout-out to the practitioners who are still willing to treat you. To the practitioners who say, "I believe you," and "I'll see you in three weeks/one month/three months." To the ones who keep trying, prescribing different meds, consulting the literature, and calling-up their old friends. To the doctors who say, "I don't know, but I'll try," and ask, "How good is your insurance?" before prescribing a new medicine. To the nurses who say, "I'm glad you're here again," and "You're right, we don't need to do that." To the women who fill out the extra paperwork, call the insurance offices, and try to find the cheaper pharmacy. To the medical practitioners who say, "You know yourself better than anyone," and "Those [doctors] don't know you." To the counselor/psychiatrist/psychologist who says, "I'm proud that you keep trying and coming back." To the gynecologist who says, "It's your choice," and "I'll give you the best medical advice I can no matter what you want." To the rheumatologist who says, "You should think about talking to a social worker about disability, as a cushion, and that doesn't mean you shouldn't work anymore if you want." To the gastroenterologist who says, "I can't do [this] because it's not safe, but I'll try [this] instead." To the primary care who says, "It's not my specialty, but since we can't find someone to help, I'll try." With so many poor prescribers, we need more of you. <3
