leviticus resonates more with me the longer i sit and think about it like oh... the fear and the guilt and the shame is always going to follow you in one way or another because the thing you've been made to fear is who you are. in a way though this aspect of the film represents what being queer means to meā being brave enough to love someone (!!!) even when everyone else has taught you to be scared
okay but naim bringing his doona into his mum's room to sleep on the floor beside her bed literally gutted me in that fucking theatre bitch i think i nearly wailed out loud wdym!!! the cognitive dissonance is insane. you did this to me, how could you do this to me? you were only trying to help me, you're supposed to protect me. i can't be alone, why did you leave me like that, please mum please don't leave me like that again WHAT THE FUUUUCKKK
The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it
truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if sheās sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if sheās perhaps worried sheās a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and thatās enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said sheās here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then sheāll make another one. I said āisnāt it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?ā and she just looked at me funny and said āwhat do you mean? The whole world was here, waitingā. Some people, I tell you.
everyone always talks about chad x ryan because of the clothes switching in "i don't dance" but no one talks about the part where both troy and chad are "specially requested" to caddy for the evans family, and we know troy was there for sharpay, but who I SAY WHO was chad for???? who ELSE???
I can't stress enough how much I miss StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon once sent me to a supercut of Lion King, Lion King 1 1/2, and Lion King II, the main edit being that the scenes of Lion King and Lion King 1 1/2 were interspersed so that they happened in the order they actually happened.
stumbleupon not existing anymore can be directly traced to a dramatic decline in my mental health, I could do a thesis on it.
bestie stumbleupon very much still exists its just called cloudhiker now. i use it all the time.
mini compilation of suggestions from the replies:
The Bored Button - "Press the Bored Button and be bored no more."
The Useless Web
Cloudhiker - "Discover the most interesting, weird and awesome websites of the Internet" (not really a rebrand, it's a different person running it but they have the same intention in mind)
Astronaut.io - "These videos come from YouTube. They were uploaded in the last week and have titles like DSC 1234 and IMG 4321. They have almost zero previous views. They are unnamed, unedited, and unseen (by anyone but you)."
Marginalia - "This is an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed."
I used to love take me to a useless website
StumbleUpon went downhill the moment Steve Ballmer started leaving reviews, personally, on websites.
Microsoft and ebay ruined that service. It went from being a genuinely good service to being an advertising platform. They removd the option to leave negative reviews on websites - there was no longer a 'thumbs down, and here's why' option on the review page.
StumbleUpon was the single best site index that has ever existed, and the best that probably ever will. We're at a point in history where it's not going to happen again. Not like that. There is just multiple orders of magnitude more slop now to crawl through. The simple authenticity of the early internet is gone.
Cloudhiker is NOT the same as the original StumbleUpon.
Not with that attitude <3
My entire bookmark tab is 90% dead websites from The Useless Web I saved over a decade ago, it'll be cool to see if they've updated it/have some more options. RIP HARDCORE PRAWN LAWN you were my favourite & your memory lives on every time I open stupid browserā¢....
i started writing books i read all year from 2024, and it turns out ive lost or misplaced the pages from 2024. i luckily have 2025, and 2026 saved. still, please come back to me
I do really love it when women write graphic and fucked up things. I feel like so often people react to fucked up fiction with āof course a disgusting man would write this šā and it often carries an unspoken (honestly sometimes spoken) message of āa womanās PURE and DELICATE and FEMININE mind could NEVER think of something this VILEā. Thank you women in fucked up fiction š«”
Fucked up fiction by women you should 100% read:
okay this is a list of exclusively bangers, not even counting the fact that WE HEXED THE MOON is on here which obviously makes me feel joyous. but kushiel's dart fuckin RULES as did on sundays she picked flowers and patricia wants to cuddle. 10/10 no notes
How convenient it is to attach small, useful objects to your clothes at waist level
It wasn't Harren, Arya wanted to say, it was me. She had killed Chiswyck with a whisper, and she would kill two more before she was through. I'm the ghost in Harrenhal, she thought. And that night, there was one less name to hate. ā A Clash of Kings - Arya VII

we all know adult humans dont get enough enrichment but the other day i was walkin home past an empty playground and impulsively ran over to spin myself on this zipline merry-go-round contraption for a few minutes and it really did feel like it unlocked some neglected part of my brain. like damn we really should all go outside and play more. fuck. they werent kidding with this play time thing. have you guys heard about play time. it could be huge.
''what if you regret it'' then you will expirience regret - a normal and unavoidable part of the human expirience.
the more you twist yourself into a pretzel to avoid regret the harder it will hit when it eventually catches up to you.
male entitlement in academic spaces is so boring. canāt tell you how many times iāve been in a class and a girl gives a short, insightful analysis, and then a dude raises his hand and saysĀ ājumping off of thatā¦ā then says literally the same thing she said but longer and worse.
I hate to be that guy, but it doesnāt just happen to women. The assholes who do that will do that to anyone whoās analysis isnāt sufficiently complex and long winded for them.Ā
Been done to me by people of both genders.Ā
Also I have been guilty of doing this, so I apologize. Because I was overly excited and just couldnāt wait to talkā¦. yeah.Ā
(Nothing is ever clear cut ehā¦.)Ā
this is art
#a fun fact about tumblr is that if you dare to complain about a mundanely frustrating type of person#that exact type of person will appear in your notes as if summoned via a ouija board
iām printing this out and iām putting it on the mirror so i can confront myself with it
Source: The Flinch, Julien Smith (full text (?) pdf: here)
You donāt know anyone at the party, so you donāt want to go. You donāt like cottage cheese, so you havenāt eaten it in years. This is your choice, of course, but donāt kid yourself: itās also the flinch. Your personality is not set in stone. You may think a morning coffee is the most enjoyable thing in the world, but itās really just a habit. Thirty days without it, and you would be fine. You think you have a soul mate, but in fact you could have had any number of spouses. You would have evolved differently, but been just as happy. (...) You can change what you want about yourself at any time. You see yourself as someone who canāt write or play an instrument, who gives in to temptation or makes bad decisions, but thatās really not you. Itās not ingrained. Itās not your personality. Your personality is something else, something deeper than just preferences, and these details on the surface, you can change anytime you like. If it is useful to do so, you must abandon your identity and start again. Sometimes, itās the only way.
