If you're teaching something like a historical period, especially for kids, and you're involving crafts in the lesson plan, I think you should have to have the students make the actual thing the people in the past would have made, not some cardboard approximation.
Sure, make a simplified, beginner-friendly version of it. Weave one little square, and then explain "This is what they would have done all day to make all their clothes." Plant and water a few little seeds, and explain "People did this with whole fields." Carve a little stick, and explain "People carved whole tools and furniture and equipment."
That kind of activity -- giving people a little taste of what kinds of work people in some past time would have done -- can be educational and give key insight into what people's lives were like.
But you are not learning anything from lego castles and aluminum foil armor and pipe cleaners and construction paper. You're learning crafting, not history.

Finally got back into reading again and trying to finish Fragile Threads of Power before Christmas
*spoilers ahead*
Got to the point where Tes meets Ned and I AUDIBLY gasped, I seriously did not expect that man to possess any sort of magic but Iām really excited to see where that goes. Hoping we see more of Ned in the future even if he is a little weird.
When Tes properly meets Lila and Kell I felt so sorry for Tes with the way Lila treated her like a tool to fix Kell, like I totally understand why Lila acted that way but it was really harsh and Kell very clearly was uncomfortable in the whole situation.
And when Tes met the queen, I canāt lie I did get very giddyā¦ until the queen also treated her like an object, another tool for her workshop, rather than an actual person - I was really hoping those two would get along become some sort of dream.
I think this is something new Iām gonna do everydayā¦ read a few more pages and come on here to waffle and share my thoughts into the void to be lost forever!

I actually had very little faith from the second Lila was locked in the room at the Veil up until Alucard cut off his brotherāa finger - for a second I thought this might actually be the end of Lila, or Alucard, or both.
And I honestly didnāt know what was gonna happen with the door, but I didnāt expect Lila to pull on Kellās powers to do it - but it worked, and I hope thereās some exploration as to where that door leads, whatās in the *space between worlds*, the void so to speaks.
Iām down to the last 36 pages and honestly I donāt want it to end, I need a sequel or something, anything. After Iām done reading The Fragile Threads of Power I plan on moving onto Evocation, by S.T. Gibson and I will definitely be doing these little notes after every bit Iāve read - so if anyone enjoys my rambling, itās here to stay!
So that was some endingā¦
Kinda disappointed that they glazed over the whole *magic surgery* thing for Kell/Rhy, I was looking forward to see Tes at work on a person and how the process would work, but it was just kinda, āthis is going to happenā and then done.
I also donāt think Tesā conclusion felt fair, I still feel like sheās a prisoner - despite Maris telling her she has her freedom - deep down I think Tes is still a scared child and is only choosing the Ferase Stras because she think she doesnāt have a choice, if she goes black to London sheās always gonna have the possibility of death seeking her out always looming above her head, so hiding out on a super secret black market to practice and hone her skills seemed like a sensible answer, but sheāll learn to regret it.
The very Ending section with the Aven Essenā¦ the way it was going I thought maybe they were an undercover spy for the Hand with the way Berras was talking, and I still think thereās some connection with the way the Aven Essen reacted to him threatening to tell the truth. I honestly did not expect her to kill him though? No remorse just quick and very painful death
Overall I have really enjoyed the book and look forward to any more within the series or the universe - but until thereās more of these to read, we move on

I am part of the problem
So I watched Season 4 of Upload and yeah, it is rushed and I am really disappointed in some parts. I am also really happy with others. In the end, I can live with it which in a world of cancelled shows with no resolutions is more than I can ask for.

Hematite is creepy as shit. Not only does it expand and contract with temperature changes (and so itās useless to wear as anything but a stone pendant) but when it shatters you can see the red speckles in it.Ā

Just wanted to do a little rant, cuz shit like this really gets on my nerves - I don't understand why bhvr devs added the anti-face camping mechanic, then in like 2 updates removed it, along with removing unhooking almost entirely.
People love to debate if this game is killer sided or survivor sided, and besides a handful of perks, the base game mechanics are very much killer sided - without perks, survivors basically have 0 chance of achieving anything.
Obviously if I'm being stupid about this let me know, but it does genuinely feel very much killer-sided
