A reference post for the people living rent free in my head.
Damaris is the original character and protagonist of a story I’m writing (Octavius’ home universe/story). Their character was inspired by Severus, Empress Alexandra, and Princess Diana. This art makes her look darker than I imagine her, but she looks cute so I don’t care.
They originated from an industrial province in their home country and grew up working in a textile mill. In reference to the real world, they were born on January 14, 1875. They have an older brother named Faris. They are intersex, demisexual, and roughly 6’0” tall.
I use “they” when writing about Damaris here for reader clarity. She throughout book goes by she/her. If I wanted to be accurate to how she would feel, I’d have write her name in the place of any pronouns used to reference her.
For example: Damaris sat Damaris’ satchel bag on the bench, reaching a long arm upwards, pale fingers outstretched to retrieve the sweet red reward Damaris craved from the branches of the tree.
Damaris was technically raised female, but was isolated on the condition of not being strictly a “complete woman” and alternatively having the men in her life not want to invade her “feminine privacy”.
For people interested in learning about how she is intersex, she has atypical genitalia. I’ll probably make another post on this at somepoint.
In reference to herself, Damaris does not view herself as female or male. She considers herself a tertiary being. Being called non-binary would be applicable, but it wouldn’t be a label she would use (if that makes sense).
Although she doesn’t mind being referred to as she/her, and generally prefers it, she doesn’t view herself as being anything in particular. “They/them” is the closet approximation I can explain. Damaris considers Damaris to be an experience. Nothing and Everything all at once.
Everyone knows Severus lol.
Octavius is technically two separate characters when looking at when I write my story vs writing fanfics, but still the same one character if it makes sense. In his canonical universe, he’s the crown prince of an empire, born on May 27, 1873. I do have art of him in a military uniform, but I want to save that for when more progress is made on the book.
Octavius is the second shortest one in his family, and is shorter than both Damaris and Severus, standing at 5’8” (almost 5’9”, but not quite). His mom is the shortest, only 5’4”.
In my fanfic verse, he was born in 1958 (same day).
Octavius in my Severus Fics is a 7th year Pukwudgie, but also could’ve ended up in the Thunderbird house. In transfer student/exchange based fics, he would be sorted into Hufflepuff.
He is a Pureblood, with B+ blood type.
His wand is made out of Pear Wood, a Unicorn Hair core, Supple flexibility, and 12 1/2” length, with spiraling curls on the “handle” end.
His original appearance in a fic, he was supposed to be introduced through a pen pal program between Wizarding Schools, and is a cousin to James Potter. Technically, he is a French descent and closer related to the Blacks and Malfoys in blood, but prefers his familial relationship with Potters. I did toy with him being descended from Marie Antoinette, but decided that was a little bit too much.
Due to his albinism, he is white passing. He is not white, and will be offended if people tried to correct him and call him as such.
He is not entirely albino, he is technically strawberry blond, and is biracial with a French American father and an African American mother, having roots in Louisiana, Alabama, and New York).
His father and mother own an extremely lucrative jewellery brand. Sometimes his backstory fluctuates in my mind, and there has been an idea of having him related to Harry Winston.
In his canonical universe, his father is simply pale skinned while his mother is Princess from a separate country.
In his home universe/story: He and his mother have a citrus allergy, and his father cultured a new type of citrus so that they could enjoy citrus flavored things. For reference, his mother developed a citrus allergy when pregnant, but grew up loving citrus fruit.
