THANK YOUUU NEW YORK TIMES
FACTS! ☝️💯
AMC's circle-jerk of access media "journalists" from TV Guide & SDCC Blog & Mary Sue actually came out en masse and BERATED the audience after the lackluster AF 3x2 episode dropped, hollering at us to give AMC a chance to "let them cook~!" 😭😩
Welp, we let them cook, alllllll the way up to that travesty of a finale, and it was hotdog water! 🤷♂️
I'm putting the whole article here cuz NYT is a pain in the neck:
Me @ the writers
one of the most romantic aspects of the tvl book with regard to loustat, considering louis was barely present, was that a major reason lestat took on his rockstar persona was to protect louis despite the book and how lestat was depicted in it. and one of this season’s failures was ignoring that act of love and completely flipping it on its head to the detriment of the perception fans have of lestat’s love for louis, which is canonically all consuming and unconditional. instead lestat was cruel and cold towards louis and if you didn’t already know how horribly mischaracterized he is you would think he could not care less if louis lived or died. too many moments this season where i said that is NOT my lestat but this major character fuck up in particular takes the cake for me. the entire “louis through lestat’s pov” concept was supposed to easily rival louis’ yearning and longing in the first two seasons but instead it was used as a way to villainize him and belittle his pain
INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE : THE VAMPIRE LESTAT (2026-) 3.07 "The Failures"
often you will see things online where you just have to be like "what a strange thing to say" or "i don't think that's true :)" to yourself and try to move on or you will lose your mind
you’re telling me a guy who tried to kill himself when claudia left nola and then again when she left paris and when armand told him claudia didn’t love him and who spent this whole season sick with grief for her. you’re telling me this guy sat through that seance heard what claudia said to him and he just chuckled and shrugged all that shit off like it was nothing. in what fucking world
does anyone remember the amc show interview with the vampire? one of the greatest things television gave us in its era. heartbreaking that it ended after two seasons when those characters were so beautifully crafted. i really wish we could’ve had more.
i love u vampirism. i love u lesbianism. i love u homoeroticism.
girl who thought that she was going to be okay
I AM THE GIRL. I AM THE GOD. I AM THE VOICE. I AM THE SONG. I AM THE NIGHT. AND I CAN ANSWER. I CAN ARRANGE IT. I CAN SAY RISE. I CAN SAY SPEAK. AND I AM HER. AND I AM SHE. AND I, I, I, I, I AM THE ANSWER.
and also it's always about claudia. the story remains about two fathers haunted by the memory of their daughter. lestat's music becomes raw and vulnerable and pure when he is haunted by claudia, when he allows himself to think about her again. the entire album is being rerecorded because of claudia. akasha will awake because of the pain of lestat losing his daughter. the story is claudia.
