Any MI6 professional development endeavor would be incomplete without a day at the outdoor shooting range. Everyone brought something to share at the end of the day.

James Bond brought deviled eggs, buns, and wine

Q brought his weekly CSA box of veggies, tzatziki dip, and a pan of outrageous brownies

Eve Moneypenny brought cowboy caviar, salsa, and tortilla chips

Alec Trevelyan brought a grill, three kinds of burgers, and condiments

Bill Tanner brought potato salad and beer, plus the bin of plates and flatware that they kept on hand for such events

Mallory brought bean salad, made from OM's famous recipe

It was a nice picnic.

Very relieved to learn this is a painting because it seems impossible, how one might get a heterochromatic white cat to pose in a box - a box on its side - for long enough to place the gems and take a photo.

Q slides his phone across the small tabletop where they've met for coffee between meetings. It's his personal phone, of course, with protections as good as the MI6 mobiles, if not better, open to the text app.

"She's not coming, then," Bond says, sliding the phone back. "You were worried?"

"As one does, about friends." Q smiles, both relieved and a bit sad. "Too bad she's missing this..." he hand waves. "She does love a room full of mysterious strangers."

"You should play anyway. I'm sure someone will sing. Oh!" Bond brightens. "A singalong! That's teamwork, right?"

"You must be joking," but Q is smiling, broader at the thought of their colleagues behind a microphone.

Look, as a Q brancher, it is practically a rule to not bend a knee to the agents, 00s or otherwise. But, in a rare turn of events, no one was requesting an abundance of fake websites to be made or company databases to be hacked or--- well anyway, I had a bit of extra time to kill while code compiled so sure Alec. So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. I don't even have that large of boobs but every time I go down some stairs all I can think about is that stupid quote about boobing breastily down the stairs or whatever it is because God Damn.

But anime and video game boob jiggling is like. The most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen nine times out of ten. You would think people this horny about tits would have actually looked at some but I guess not.

What we really need is some pervert to compile the ultimate visual guide to boob bouncing physics that's just like 500 hours of meticulously organized videos of breasts of different size and shape and under different fabrics bouncing around from a wide variety of physical movements so horny game devs can finally get it right and I don't have to be creeped out by women who appear to have surgically implanted softballs in their chest under skin made of rubber bands.

Bootblacking is top level kink because it's one of the few I can think of where the nominal sub is treated as a thoughtful, knowledgeable technician from the outset.

Like, a flogging bottom might be praised for their ability to take pain and know their limits, or a rope bunny might be recognised as keeping themselves in good physical shape so they can hold complicated stress positions for longer than a novice, but even the most beginner of beginner bootblacks has learnt a little bit of materials science (Will this type of brush scratch this patent finish?), a little bit of basic chemistry (If these were last polished with a silicone wax, how do I remove that to start to bull them?), a little bit of leatherworking history (Is that natural fibre stitching on those surplused Warsaw Pact boots, will my polish rot it?) and spent time practising techniques on their own boots.

And it's one of the few kinks I can think of where the top is so immediately physically and emotionally vulnerable to the bottom in that way: I put my foot in the hands of a stranger bootblacking at a party, and I trust that they won't damage the boots I was gifted by my long-dead Master when I was 17, that they won't soak the stitching and start the rot of the boots I was wearing when I first fucked the love of my life, I trust that they'll carefully work around and treat the cuts and scuffs in the leather that I picked up wearing these same boots marshalling at a dozen prides and going toe-to-toe with strikebreakers and scabs on twenty years' worth of picket lines. The experienced bootblack can look at my soles and where my boots crease, and see that I have a weak hip, that I'm slightly bowlegged, that I don't drive and that I walk even in the weather where I'd rather not. And I trust that they'll see that worn-out, poor, slightly sad old man and still call me "sir".

It just feels like a lot.

the joke among my leather circle is "everyone subs for a bootblack," not necessarily that bootblacking = sub or dom, but rather, we could have the most stone-top, left-pocket-black-flagging, powder-coated-steel-paddle-gripping Sir Dom, and all a bootblack has to do is move their wesco boot with a palm and they obey.

"give me this foot." tugging laces loose with one practiced finger. hefting a heavy-soled engineer up to wrench pebbles loose from in between the lugs. "stay still." taking finger-fulls of huberd's and lathing it meticulously and lavishly over a pair of oil tans - watching my customer curiously eye the lubricated shine with a rising heat behind their cheeks. planting the full weight of their boot on my shoulder and commanding them, gently, to press their weight onto me.

there's something so deeply fulfilling in being a technician, someone who restores leather like a museum archivist, accentuating scratches and blemishes and returning life to those leather pieces so they can go on to keep fucking, kicking, running. i am as much a craftsman as i am a history keeper. my respect is given not just by the titles i refer to you with, but the care i have given to your boots, jackets, and harnesses, and the stories they tell.

007 Fest 2026, Scavenger Hunt item no. 37: ‘Bond on a Budget! Recreate a character's look without breaking the bank.’

OKAY SO most of this is certainly Not Cheap, but in my defence I didn't buy anything specially for this photoshoot. Everything here is part of my collection, and as you can see it is, uh, extensive. Somebody in the "lifestyle" side of this fandom once said "men in this fandom want to be Bond, women want to be with Bond"—well sucks to suck, because I wanna be Alec Trevelyan!

Btw, while I don't have a licence to kill or do I, I absolutely have one to legally own those pew pews. No live ammo was loaded, trigger discipline, etc. The pistol is a Walther P99 hey, Brosnan!Bond gun! and the rifle is a Norinco Type 81.

Oh and the Omega is also real (and from 1995 no less!). Pro tip, if you want a real, vintage one without forking over a mortgage down payment, look for ladies editions. Your wrist will also thank you, trust me.
