To the traditional artists out there: how do you digitize your drawings? Phone camera, scanner (if so, what scanner?), professional photo camera with tripod...?
I'm thinking about investing in a A3 scanner like this:
But I'm not sure if these things from Amazon are actually worth the money... I need something that can capture the entire drawing in high resolution with every corner and detail being sharp (?) and NOT out of focus (which happens when I use my Nikon)
My phone camera is pretty bad (my phone is a 4 year old Honor Android phone that was 180 bucks...) and my HP Scanner-printer combo is only A4 size and it won't connect to my PC anymore (not even with the USB cable...).
Update: I bought a new phone with a better camera so hopefully I can take high rest, clear pictures of my A3 artworks too! I also managed to hook up my scanner-printer to my PC and everything works now as it should.
I'd still love to know how you guys digitize your drawings, especially the bigger ones! I wanna scan and work with them digitally too, maybe print comics from them, so the photo quality has to be excellent!
Maybe @electracution can help, but it really is a pain. Even worse when you use colours. I find it so annoying and frustrating that my sketches that look light on paper suddenly look frumpy and weird on a photo. And then you have to get the angle right…

I own a scanner, which is in my experience the best way to digitalise traditional art. When it comes to bigger sizes (A3 and higher) you can always go to a printer and pay for the service. In my city there's one on every corner and it's cheap (if you know where to go). Sometimes you have to tweak the pictures later, but at least you don't deal with angles or shadows like from a regular photo.
However, when it comes to paintings on a canvas, or something thick, it's definitely worth it to buy a camera. Phones take away a lot of detail... A camera with good lighting can work wonders. Not sure about the tripod though. Never tried it before.
