This was the worst possible situation he could ever possibly be in.

This man, someone he didn’t know the name of yet, was looking for him after Sonic got reckless. He’d been doing alright keeping himself hidden, but he’s hardly ever been to the wilder side of the woods near town.

That’s what did it.

That’s what lead him to be injured, back pinned to the trunk of a tree, staring up at the man who’s looming over him.

Someone else was coming, and Sonic was injured and in pain. That leaves him vulnerable, and vulnerability isn’t a good situation for him. He’s been here before ten years ago, he didn’t want to be there again now.

He had to hide, and he did the best he could, slipping himself underneath a little dip in the ground next to the side of a larger rock.
