Small relaxation drawing of the son at Halamshiral! With the second one I tried to do something I first saw @99elfroot do for their Inquisitor Quell - something a bit like warpaint/ decorative face painting to enhance the vallaslin for ceremonial/ festive occassions. I’m almost 99% sure a Lavellan is encouraged prior to the ball to cover their vallaslin or power their face to make it less obvious - and Tamlen would definitely be someone to say “screw you” and then do the opposite. Not really happy with this design yet though… I need to explore it further in the future :D

Freckle Constellations

“Have I ever told you how much I love your freckles?“ Dorian asked, his fingers wandering along Tamlen’s spine. For a moment he looked up from the book he was reading. They’d been in bed all morning, just lounging, reading, and occasionally talking. Tamlen still needed a day or two to adjust to the hot climate of the north before he could go on adventures through Minrathous.

“In one way or another you might have,” he then replied after a moment. Dorian smiled, his hand resting now at the small of Tamlen’s back and he was looking in his eyes.

“Did you know that as a kid I didn’t like them much?” he asked in return and Dorian raised his eyebrows.

The three fake screenshots I did this week for this short story I wrote about Tamlen’s first day in Haven after stabilizing the Breach. I can only imagine how lonely it must have felt for the quizzie to be there, far away from home and all the people they know ;_;

The first days of Haven

Summary: Lavellan tries to cope with the situation of him being stuck in Haven after the explosion at the Conclave. For now he cooperates with the Inquisition, because it seems like the only way to stay safe in his situation. It’s not much a difference to being alone altogether in this foreign place though, far away from his loved ones and all he knows.

Characters: Tamlen Lavellan, Varric Tethras

A low grumbling roar resonated from his stomach as Tamlen walked by the tavern. No one had probably heard it, but his face turned red nevertheless. The smell of molten butter on fresh bread, of a hearty stew bubbling over a crackling fire, the warmth radiating through the doors and windows was like an invitation. To leave the tavern behind as quickly as possible he immediately sped up his steps. The small money pouch attached to his belt suddenly had the weight of a brick, dragging him back and slowing him down.

Tamlen: “Do you know those moments, when you’re being bold (even when you’re usually not) and suddenly things get very intense and serious? It felt a little like that. In a good way though.

It was a very nice kiss, a little unexpected despite I had been hoping for it. Could have been longer, but Dorian’s beard tickled me, so it probably was for the best. I wouldn’t have wanted it to end in a sneeze, that tends to be not that romantic.”

Thanks so much for asking dear anon! As you can see I wanted to draw something for this, that’s why the reply took me a bit :D Actually still want to do this as an actual comic in a bit more detail, e.g. the scenes leading up to this and what followed after. Maybe some day :D

A little animation experiment with one of my non-fandom original OCs Carion. Also wanted to play with his overall design and test his facial markings. He got them voluntarily by joining a royal order, and their magical properties grant him some special abilities to investigate crimes and strange supernatural occurrences :D
