Big Hit Entertainment Releases Statement About Sugaās Mixtape Sampling Controversy
āHello, this is Big Hit Entertainment. This is our official statement on the issue of BTSā Sugaās mixtape.
The vocal sample of the speech in the introduction of the song āWhat Do You Think?ā on the mixtape was selected without any special intent by the producer who worked on the track, who was unaware of the identity of the speaker and used the sample for the overall atmosphere of the song.
After the speech sample was selected, the company followed our internal process and carried out procedures for reviewing the appropriateness of the content. However, in both the selection and review processes, we committed an error in not recognizing the inappropriateness of the content and including the sample in the song.
Big Hit Entertainment has processes for reviewing its diverse content targeted toward a global audience for potential social, cultural, and historical issues. However, we are experiencing the reality that there are limits to understanding and correctly responding to every situation. In this case, we were not able to recognize the issue in advance and displayed a lack of understanding about the relevant historical and social issues. We apologize to those who felt uncomfortable or hurt because of this.
Big Hit Entertainment has removed the part of the song in question and re-released the new version.
The artist also feels embarrassed and deeply responsible for a problem that has arisen in an area that he did not consider.
Big Hit Entertainment will use this incident as a lesson to conduct its production process more thoroughly.ā

At first I though this was a joke
Donāt ignore this Tumblr
Yet they still do even when itās right in their face.
This reminds me of how a friend of mine was abused by the mother of his child. She was mentally unstable and used to berate him constantly and would smack him in the head all the time. It really pissed me off. Then one night she threw hot coffee in his face and tried to stab him with a screwdriver. The cops hauled him off to jail because she made up a sob story that painted herself as the victim.Ā Once he left her, he stayed with me and it was a nightmare. She stalked him and me. She would drive by my house obsessively at all hours of the day and night (her muffler made a weird sound so I know it was her). She started showing up at my job, showing up at the places I frequented around town, and filling up my voicemail with dead air. The cops were no help. One day she got bold enough to talk her way into my home by conning my elderly grandmother, whom I was taking care of, while I was out. She went in my room and went through my stuff (creepy), then found him napping on the couch and attacked him. My grandmother witnessed the whole thing. He grabbed her by the arms, forced her out the front door, and locked it. The cops were called again. They said theyād go and ātalkā to her.
The next day we were watching a movie and there was a knock at the door. The police had come to arrest him. She filed a complaint against him and shown off some bruises on her arms from the altercation that she swore were completely unprovoked. My grandmother saw the whole thing since she was in the living room too and testified on his behalf. He still ended up serving jail time. No one takes male domestic violence victims seriously. They only see males as perpetrators.
#standing up for male victims takes NOTHING away from female victimsĀ #this isnāt an either/or scenarioĀ #you can pursue justice for male victims and still be 100% feministĀ #safer world for EVERYONEĀ
This is important. Just⦠everyone needs to see this.
Just as a fun fact,
If you donāt believe male victims exist, or deserve to be stood up for then youāre not a feminist. Sorry I donāt make the rules.
REBLOGGED FOR SURE
PSA: men are people too
I hate how easily the world holds onto stereotypes. Like, at one period in human history women were more abused than men. But the world is changing, and shit like that happens to men more frequently. So donāt dismiss men because of previous actions. Everyone has biases, there is no such thing as being completely unbiased. There will always be things in society or how we were raised that give us broken views on how the world works. There is still such a gap between men and women. Weāre almost viewed as two different species than as humanity as a whole. Equality is a goal that we need to strive for, but nobody has achieved yet. Sorry for the rant, humanity just makes me really mad sometimes
I think a lot of people forget that Namjoon is so young. He was 19 internationally when they debuted. He is only a year older than Jimin and Taehyung and the maknae of the hyung line. At 19 he carried the hopes and dreams of six other boys and a company close to bankruptcy and itās easy to cringe at 2013 Namjoon. He tried too hard, he made mistakes, he did expensive girl, his hair was stupid, and named himself Rap Monster! But 2013 Namjoon was also the one who was hungry for success, who lived diligently, produced music, wrote lyrics, and pushed forward despite an entire industry and underground artists he once respected insulting and degrading him and his brothers. 2013 Namjoon was desperate and terrified to show the world his heart and soul, and the layers peeled back revealed the kindest and wisest soul. So I love 2013 Namjoon. I love him to bits. I love his stupid hair, his sunglasses, his try hard attitude, his cringey, terrible mistakes, because 2013 Namjoon is what made 2019 Namjoon. He carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and turned it into a beautiful strength.

#controversial opinion but i feel that cremation should honestly be more accepted in christianity. you know āmemento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverterisā and all that jazz. i think it would be more poetic in a sense.Ā

This fucking song made me cry.. both because of the voices and the drama that is associated with... But I have a question that has been bothering me since I've heard it. Is the Hanbin they are referring to BI from Ikon????
