Amber is honestly so fun and I love her alot
Does rune factory 4 have a secret like luck mechanic I don't know about because I keep tripping and I've never actually seen that happen before
Update:
Oohh it's because I'm wearing the wet shoes yeah ok that makes sense
ok but Yasuhiro in his first year at Hope's Peak becoming convinced that Chihiro and Byakuya are going to end up together because he saw Byakuya messing with Chihiro's dead body in a vision and just completely failed the dice roll on interpretating what he saw
not me almost crying scrolling through the Kiel tag
like that's my little guy!! That's my little guy!!!
i keep hovering over the i love you button while playing special because like i want to marry him again even though I'm supposed to be marrying Arthur
sure that character who's a bit younger then the others in that found family could be their child/innocent
or it could be so much more fun by them being their child/not innocent even if they want to pretend it is
to avoid people misunderstanding i'm not talking about an actual child obviously
i mean like a 20 something moving in with a long established couple in their 40's+ and becoming a part of their life in a way that's a bit weird specifically i was thinking about Lavender/Arthur/Molly again because they are a very easy example of that concept to me
and a little bit of
Nancy/Jones/maybe Dolce or maybe someone else
like Dolce is the easy option being the one that moves in with them in the game
but!
They also don't have kids at all and in a way i feel like having Dolce getting to play that role and a different Bachelor/Bachelorette ending up in the "We thought this was going to just be like Dolce was but it's not and neither of us know how to feel about this" has a bit more fun layers to it.
But i also don't know who i would go with
Like I love Kiel so I'm always down to ship him with almost anyone and since he is a bit sickly he does have that thematic thing going on with Nancy and Jones being the town's Nurse/Doctor.
Bado is a good choice if you're weird about age gaps but like to me the age gap is like part of the appeal in this kind of dynamic it would be a really different type of ship with someone who isn't young enough to make them question themselves a bit and feel a bit guilty
Like I think a decent amount of the options could work pretty well and would have different vibes
i think someone calling Chihiro 'cool' would actually be pretty effective in terms of making them like the person maybe not instant crush but pretty close
i read an enosaki fic a few weeks ago and now every couple of days my brain just thinks about Junko feeling up Chihiro's chest just to pause and go "Oh wow ....my condolences babe?" because of just how flat Chihiro is.
I don't know why that moment stuck in my head so much but it's so silly in the best way
anyway highly recommend it I think it was alot of fun
Kinktober 2025 Day Five- Finger Sucking/Wax Play/Dacryphilia by TsukuzuedaPeak
IDk if you've heard it but the song Andrew in drag fits soo well for Chigami in my mind
Oh! how fun!!!
Yeah I can totally see that
it makes sense to me depending on what direction you're going with on Chihiro for sure!! I've never actually heard it before but I like the vibe of it!
I'm going to take this opportunity to share some I've been associating with them lately since I do have some! Not many since I just got here but like you know~
Pretty When U Cry by Ieuan
very very loose though like some verses are very hit for them to me but then others I'm like eh- lmao but I'm a little picky like that so I'm keeping it.
and Troublemaker by Olly Murs
as a Chihiro perspective obv mostly in a I think it would fit well for an edit way
but yeah I've been associating those with them alot when I've been doing my "pace and think about ships" sessions!
I'm also like half way working on an edit of them set to Calm Before the Storm by CircusP but that's 80% me just trying to learn how to use Davinci Resolve and messing around so who knows if it will ever see the actual light of day or not
i think more people should have the person that raised them experience the same media that they like because it's really interesting to see where you agree and disagree when it comes to stuff
like if you have a decent relationship with them and blah blah
thinking about this because of my mom playing DR
and me telling her how i think some people over react a little bit when it comes to Byakuya's actions in the second trial since she had just finished it and then she immediately said my exact thoughts on the matter even though i don't remember saying those thoughts to her lmao
“well that's kinda dumb it's not like it hurt her or anything like she's already gone they kinda have a point about the bodies being objects thing”
I immediately was like ah- is this where i got my view on corpses from
like I've been thinking in my head “am i like a bad person because I don't get what's so horrible about this??” for like a week
maybe the real reason Togami defaults to crossing her arms all the time is because otherwise she'll be hyper aware that she can't twirl her hair with her fingers since it's just not long enough anymore
I just think keeping the fact that V3 takes place further into the future and just giving ships that are V3/THH or V3/DR2 significant age gaps would be pretty fun
like Kyoko/Shuichi but Kyoko's got a good 35 years on him to help play with that whole pre game Shuichi really liking Kyoko as a character thing (it might just have been detective characters in general i don't really care to look atm and can't remember but I don't think it makes a difference though)
or like Sayaka/Kaede where Sayaka's graduated from being an idol and has now spent a few years working as an actress. But now that's she's officially in her 40's she's realized she's never really given love a real chance since it's always been her dream over anything else and now she keeps running into this 20 something pianist that's so amazing at playing that it makes the whole room light up and she kind of hates how drawn she is to it even though it feels almost as nice as the spotlight had.
One thing I do like about Danganronpa is the very limited cast of characters per game.
like there are only like 16 characters per main game (and UDG is even smaller but that's got it's own things going on) and because of that you have to choose from a fanfic/world building perspective how you want to handle that which imo makes you more attached to characters you might not have cared about as much in a larger cast
like would I like Hifumi or Hagakure in any other piece of media? not very likely but them being in such a small cast means i pay more attention to them even though they're not really characters I'd pay much attention to otherwise. So they go from characters I'd honestly not care about to characters i keep circling back to and honestly at this point find really neat.
also because of the small cast in combination with knowing their pasts are missing leads to being able to come up with at least some kind of reason for just about any combo of characters being close (either platonically or romantically) in my opinion
I know that's not a common opinion though
just from what I've seen around because some people again are kind of weird about shipping in a way that I have a very hard time understanding and they need like 5 pages of evidence or the character looking their respective Main Character in the eyes and going "I like x. Do you hear me?? I. LIKE. THEM." for it to be considered enough reason to ship them.
Heck sometimes that's not even good enough.
You can always find a way to make it work with enough effort and creativity in my opinion.
obv I'm very THH heavy right now but just in that alone you have like three built in scenarios that can each bring very different dynamics and cause different relationships to form.
Pre-Killing Game (before the Tragedy even happened when everyone's just enjoying their school lives)
Killing Game (it's-it's the killing game like both in canon scenarios and canon divergent scenarios. High stakes High tension. I know alot of people say that they don't think anything makes sense in this scenario for anything to really form but I don't agree.)
Post Killing Game (both in the canon six survivors way and the Alternate survivors way)
That's not even going into the canon divergent universe's like
Locked in the School Arc (technically this doesn't last long at all but it's a very easy AU and could easily cause different dynamics if it had worked because of the different mindset that would come from an end of the world scenario and forced proximity like that)
Makoto's Bad Ending verse ("It's not canon" do I look like I care? I really really don't it's a fascinating ending and I think it could be neat give me the Aoi centric Polyam AU)
Virtual Reality AU (where it's like DR2 and it turned out it was a weird therapy experiment set up by Hope's Peak. A bit of a weird category since it becomes a question of "is it Canon Divergence if it changed so early on even though the character's didn't know that until it was all over and otherwise everything happened the same way?" but it's fun because you get to keep all the canon actions taken by the characters and build on them including the murders.
Because I've been having so many chigami thoughts lately I feel like it's making me have more Chihiro/Toko thoughts
Just by like association
Like Jill saying something perverted when someone's trying to get her to take a bath like "what? Are you going to take one with me? Are you going to bathe me?" leading to Chihiro being Chihiro and being "well if you think it would help then I will" and then they do and like yeah it kind of does help a little having someone else there and continuously reminding her that she's ok and everything's fine
This is in a “everyone already knows or at least Toko is someone who knows” world if that's not clear. It doesn't really work in a world where Toko doesn't know because Chihiro would prioritize keeping their secret. I do think it fit's Chihiro well in a world where she does know though. Since then it can play more into their self sacrificial nature and need to be helpful to their friends.
Also just the fact Toko canonically is one of the people that find Chihiro attractive (even though it's Jill that says it but they do share that kind of stuff so-) (but also that I think it's the only character other then Byakuya she says anything like that about?? but don't quote me on that I don't feel like scrubbing through a let's play to check right now)
it makes me think it would be neat to see her become similarly fixated on Chihiro as she is on Byakuya.
A very Angel and Devil situation for her.
Or even just in a Chigami au not responding the way the class or anyone expects and ending up sticking around them all the time anyway and just like accepting it.
also after like three new novels that had a Byakuya type as the LI then just all of a sudden the newest one having a bit of a cry baby sweet heart LI that makes everyone in the class look at Chihiro immediately like huh- wonder what happened there... while Toko refuses to look at them
I think a character not being another's preferred type is actually more of a reason to ship it at times
Sometimes your type is not what you need
sometimes your type as attractive as they may be to you will just make you worse or exasperate your issues
"he tampered with their corpse"
"he messed with Chihiro's dead body"
"Are you guys just forgetting what he did to Chihiro"
"he disrespected their dead body"
No no i know very well what he did and I think that was really sexy of him next question.
im mostly joking
but for real i think people are a little weird about shipping sometimes
like that is prime building material right there especially in a series like DR where one of the whole things is that everyone in the killing game had their memory wiped and we don't actually know everything about the years they lost
like you don't see the tragedy?
you don't see the potential you get from something like that?
You don't see how it's the easiest death to pull off fun nonsense au's with?
-Not actually dead aus
-Revive based soulmate aus
-Byakuya left the library just a little earlier aus
because of it being the only death where someone found the body very close to their time of death and didn't immediately tell everyone it gives so much room to play with the situation in a way that would be frankly a little boring with most of the other options in THH
like the only other one you get is like Sakura but that's Aoi and you know that's nothing different and it doesn't really bring anything new to the table about their dynamic which is fine but it would just be more of the same and with her death being a suicide it would kind of not really help anything
Like maybe you could pull something off with Hifumi/Taka?? which would be fascinating honestly
like with revive based soulmates? just mess up Celeste's whole plan by accident and watching her be like what the hell when Taka just walks up to everyone after they had all already found his body
maybe the effect needs like a cool down or something or like a certain action (like a kiss i know i was toying with that concept in a chigami sense where it's like you feel like you have to making it a pull kind of soulmate tell but still giving enough freedom to not do it in the moment making for more freedom in choosing when it happens from a storytelling standpoint)
and Hifumi's just like “um wait do i kill him again...”
i need to c0mm/ssion implied chigami art of Byakuya stringing up Chihiro's body but being so weird about it
i think there should be more art of Byakuya being kind of vaguely sexual about stringing Chihiro up and I'm willing to pay for it
sure sure we know he doesn't know the truth so it can't really be anything too bad unless you want to stretch it with claiming he was like lying but that doesn't mean he can't like caress their face or maybe kiss their corpse
also i saw someone say that this line
can be argued as proof that he was checking Chihiro out and like yeah I'll adapt that into my worldview sure he can be added to the "thought Chihiro was cute" club
