FIREWORKS ARE DANGEROUS
They terrify cats and dogs. Loud explosions can cause pets to panic, hide for days, escape from homes, or injure themselves trying to flee.
Wildlife experiences extreme stress. Birds, deer, foxes, rabbits, and other animals often mistake fireworks for danger, causing panic and exhaustion.
Birds can die during stampedes or collisions. Frightened birds may fly into buildings, power lines, or each other in the dark, resulting in injury or death.
Young animals can be abandoned. Startled parents may flee nests or dens, leaving babies vulnerable to starvation, exposure, or predators.
They leave behind litter and toxic debris. Plastic casings, paper, cardboard, and chemical residue can contaminate parks, rivers, forests, and beaches, where wildlife may ingest or become entangled in it.
They increase the risk of wildfires. Sparks from fireworks can ignite dry grass, forests, and other vegetation, destroying habitats and killing countless animals.
Cats and wildlife can disappear for days. Frightened animals often run long distances from home or their territories, increasing the risk of starvation, dehydration, road accidents, and becoming lost.
Noise disrupts natural behavior. Fireworks interfere with feeding, hunting, migration, communication, and sleep, sometimes affecting animals long after the display has ended.
The celebration lasts minutes, but the consequences can last much longer. Wildlife injuries, displaced pets, environmental pollution, and habitat damage can persist for days, weeks, or even years after a single fireworks event.
