Let’s raise awareness.
Fireworks 🎇 should be banned once and for all. I’ll admit it, they’re pretty, but we have so many better, safer options to replace them.
I didn’t think much about it until recently, when I started rescuing more cats and spending more time around animals. I’ve learned so much that I never knew before, and I’m still learning every day.
Fireworks are beautiful, but only for a moment. You watch them, smile, and then forget about them.
Meanwhile, during those same moments, this is what’s really happening in your community and your city:
Extreme noise: Animals have much more sensitive hearing than humans. Fireworks sound like sudden explosions, which can cause panic, pain, and disorientation. To them, it can feel like danger with no warning.
No understanding of cause: Animals don’t know fireworks are a celebration. They can’t tell the difference between a party and a threat, so their instincts go straight into fight-or-flight mode.
Panic responses: Many animals try to escape the noise, leading to injuries, broken windows, lost pets, or running into traffic. Wildlife may abandon nests or young.
Stress and trauma: Repeated fireworks can cause lasting anxiety. Some pets shake, hide, refuse to eat, or develop long-term noise phobias.
Harm to wildlife: Birds can become disoriented mid-flight, collide with buildings, or fly until exhaustion. Small animals may suffer heart failure from extreme stress.
Pollution: Fireworks leave behind debris and chemicals that animals can ingest or inhale, affecting water, soil, and food sources.
Banning fireworks would make the world better by protecting animals, reducing stress and injuries, and keeping wildlife safe. It would also mean less pollution, cleaner air, and quieter communities. We can still celebrate in beautiful ways, just without causing fear and harm.
