The Sun and Moon

Started as a general personification of the Sun and Moon, but I had Arien and Tilion in mind while I was drawing it, so it’s basically them. Middle Earth’s guiders of light.

I used a pencil brush this time to give it a more ‘sketchy’ look, and I quite like the outcome. I also leaned into a blue/teal theme, as I was colouring it in, which I really like. Personally, I feel it suits him.

Varda, Lady of the Stars, who knows all the regions of Eä. Too great is her beauty to be declared in the words of Men or of Elves; for the light of Ilúvatar lives still in her face. In light is her power and her joy.

Definitely one of my favourite artworks so far.

Time for the dark lords 🔥

Happy New Year everyone! My first post of 2024 is the cousins on the braid train. From left to right is young Maedhros, Fingon and Finrod, doing each others hair in the morning.

So glad I finally got round to drawing these three, especially Fingon and Finrod who I haven’t drawn yet till now.

Caranthir the dark and Amrod (right) and Amras (left). I really wanted to do Curufin at some point, but just (rather frustratingly) couldn’t think of how to draw him. Oh well, hopefully I’ll do him at some point.

I couldn’t really figure out the shading on the twins, but I mainly just love the emotion in it, (their Valinor days were very happy) and have had it for a while, so might as well post it. Maybe I’ll finish it off another time. 😊

Meadhros carrying little Maglor on his shoulders to watch the light in Valinor. I like to think that due to his height, his brothers got him to do this a lot when they were little; they could see so much from up there (and being the caring older brother he was, he always let them).

(And yes, I did use reference sheets by the artist Kibbitzer from Pinterest. Not sure if I’m supposed to cred them or not on here, but I will just in case. They’re very helpful for beginner and amateur artists.)
