elxjaejoong:
“Too quiet,” Jae agreed, voice utterly bored, blue eyes giving the crowd a disdainful once over. For now. “I suppose I’ll just have to spice things up a little, hm?”
“..Too quiet?” The bartender didn’t like the sound of that but considering the other was his boss, Taekwoon kept silent.

“How’s the night coming along? We haven’t had any – issues, have we?”
“...No. It’s been..quiet..” He mumbled as he cleaned out a glass.

Aria had tosnicker at his answer. The male wasn’t so talkative; that much was clear to her, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to continue the little conversation she had already started. She only hoped he didn’t mind keeping her company while she was there. He seemed nice and pretty harmless. Aria didn’t see the risk in befriending him.
Tilting her head a little to the side, she watches him cleaning up the counter and the shakers, noticing how he didn’t exactly return her gaze when talking. Was she making him nervous? Hopefully not. “The name’s Aria,” she says and contemplates whether or not she should hold out her hand so he could shake it, meaning they would be done with the formal introductions and could jump straight to the friendly conversation, but decided against it because of the distance between them and how they were situated. In worst case scenario where he wouldn’t shake her hand, it would be a little embarrassing for her, so she wanted to spare herself that embarrassment.
She takes another sip of her drink, staring at it for a few seconds before looking back up at the bartender, as he said his name. The corner of her lips curves up in a smile, “It’s nice to meet you.” A pause ensues as she thinks to herself before she opens her mouth again, “You don’t mind talking to me do you?”
It wasn’t unusual for customers who came by the bar to strike a conversation with him. Although Leo wasn’t much of a talker himself, he was an exceptional listener according to some - whether that was true or not. As long as the attention was away from him, he would listen to all the rants and ramblings one would have.
When the girl introduced herself, Leo stared at her wide-eyed. Even though he shouldn’t be surprised since it did happen every now and then, Leo still never expected the visitors to introduce themselves. On one hand, it was polite and moreorless common social etiquette, but why would anyone want some bartender to know their names? Especially those whom he had never seen again after that one visit.
“.....Leo.” His name spoken quietly due to his nature and not because he was being rude while giving her a small nod to acknowledge her greet. His eyes went back to the glass he had been wiping and making a small gesture with his hand, he silently told her to continue.
Sometimes he enjoyed listening to people rant. It showed quite a bit about their life and considering how infrequently he went out, listening to people’s stories was one of the few ways he had as a link to the outside world. It was like a television show, but audio format.

despite her sharp mouthed orders, there are still a handful of people staring; whispering — mutants, freak, accidents, the list goes on. sooyeon can only hear bits and pieces, but they frustrate her none the less.
( guilt by association, she tells herself; they’re not talking to her, no. )
selfish will do as selfish does.
frowning, she shoots the male a pointed look as he meets her eyes; her brows raise, light scoff leaving her lips. in a gentle manner, despite the frustrated expression on her face, she brushes away strands of hair in his face — fingers fluttering over his features idly before pulling away.
“breathe.” sooyeon orders, teeth digging into her lip and tongue pressing against her cheek. her hands move back to his shoulders and squeeze, lightly shaking him. “just breathe. you’re gonna freak yourself out of again.”
she wonders if this is normal, this occurrence happening more often than what sooyeon thinks it should. another sweep around the area, with a scowl on her lips and eyes narrowed, she finds that nearly everyone else has continued what they’re doing — but they avoid their area like a plague. that’s fine with her, and with a pleased tilt to her lips, turns her attention back to the frazzled male.
“jessica.” she stares quickly, cleanly; her smile is curt and short, and she tugs at his shoulders lightly — in an attempt to get him to stand. “i’m not here to mess with you. c’mon, get off the floor.” after succesfully pulling the boy to his feet, sooyeon sighs and lightly dusts off her legs, before shortly doing the same to him. with a hum, she stands up straight and drops her hands form his body, one arm lifting to her head to she can run her fingers through the strands of her hair.
“…are you calm?” her question is imploring. “you got ahold of yourself, yet?”
The moment she squeezed his shoulder, his heart picked up briefly until he realized what she was trying to do. Relax. Breathe. Relax. The simple commands he kept telling himself everything he panicked yet never seemed to be able to do so before completely losing it. Why couldn’t he keep calm like the other mutants he had encountered? It had been so long and yet he still wasn’t capable of holding it together and even when he did lose it, he couldn’t get it back together himself.
He was utterly useless on his own. Whatever self-confidence he had was destroyed years ago and never had the chance of rebuilding it. The few friends he had tried to help him but still wasn’t as successful as they would have liked.
When he got to his feet - feeling like a child when the other had to help him - Leo kept his eyes down as she dusted off his knees, giving her a light and shaky nod as a small thanks. The bartender didn’t trust himself to give her a solid answer yet so he stuck with nodding when she asked if he had gotten a hold of himself.
Honestly and blatantly, Leo was pretty shaken up after being harassed by the drunk man but now, he was more disoriented than anything else. After all, he still had no idea why she was helping him when she had absolutely no reason to.
“Uh.. “
He wasn’t sure what to say to her.
“....Thanks...”
Griffon ♣ w. Taekwoon
A tiny part beneath all her lies, selfish desires and sadistic tendencies to mentally torture people, almost felt sorry for him. His eyes so wide, so panicked that she half expected him to dash right ahead and flee from the bar in worry he might be captured and taken to the facilities. Such a fate she did not desire for him. Then she’d lose all her fun in teasing and unnerving him. Smirking beneath the save cover of her palm blocking a glance at her lips, her eyes remained innocent until the moment he spun around.
The sudden shatter of glass rung sensitively in her ears, resulting to a stinging pain to surface within her skull. What a clumsy idiot. Ready to snap into his direction to be more careful than that, she quickly reminded herself that it went against the act she had played up until that moment. Instead Cecilia exhaled a deep sigh, trying to calm herself and pray for the sting to fade again. Thumb and index finger rubbing soothing circles into her temples, she didn’t take note of any of his actions.
Only when the silent curse reached her ears did she open her eyes again, glance casted towards the clumsy bartender. “You’re new to the job, aren’t you?” She asked jestingly, aware that his clumsiness resulted rather from a single word that left him distraught and shaken up. Who wouldn’t be shaken up after having caused such an uproar. Instead of offering help though, she took a sip from her drink, silently complimenting him at least for his drink mixing skills.
"Are you okay?" She decided to ask out of an act of courtesy, careful to keep her image in check. "Do you need a band-aid?"
The tone suggested she was teasing him; Leo wasn’t that dull not to notice at least that. The bartender mumbled something that sounded like a no while he lifted the now blood-stained towel to inspect the wound. It wasn’t too deep but it still hurt like hell.
He was more concerned about the mess he made and wanted to have it dealt with as soon as possible before his boss sees it. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure if his boss was going to be upset about this little mishap, but the young mutant was just paranoid by nature. His eyes quickly scanned the area to see if any of the customers were frowning at the little disruption but thankfully - or not so thankfully - only the one sitting at the counter was watching him.
“Um...” He looked down at his finger again which hadn’t stopped bleeding yet. “I.. I think so.” The words came out as a mumble as usual. The boy ought to work on his self-esteem so that he could start speaking clearly. Leo bend down again and sweeped up the broken shards with one end of the towel to the other before dropping everything into the trash.
“Sorry for um the ... clumsiness.” Leo apologized as he returned to the female. His finger was still bleeding but a bandage wasn’t necessary.
"You're fucking crazy!"
He kept his eyes in front of him even though he heard Zelo. The two of them were on the roof of a building with Leo standing at the edge while holding the railing behind him.
Was this a crazy idea? He had always been curious about it. He had seen movies and shows where people who could fly pull up at the last minute and although he wasn’t fond of using his powers, he wanted to see if he could do the same.
It was times like this that he wished he could possess the form of a Valkyrie, but unfortunately there weren’t such thing as a male Valkyrie and he didn’t know if he could just imitate the wings. Because if he could, it would have been more subtle than a griffon or a manticore flying over the city.
"Practice…You’re actually concerned about me?" A rare teasing tone laced his words as he let go of the railing to plummet down the building. Trying to get Leo angry was hard so this would be the next best alternative to get him to shift in control when in a panic.
When the ground looked closer and closer, said panic kicked in. He wanted to hold out until the very end before shifting, but the lower he got, his instinct took over and in place of Leo was now a Griffon. His wings flapped to change his direction.
"…Shit." Another failed attempt.

One would think that working at a bar would get tiresome, let along choosing to unwind ata bar of all places, after a long day. But to Aria, it didn’t mind much because somehow, she had gotten accustomed to the certain scent and setting that only the bar carried.
It was relaxing and made her feel safe, somehow.
Entering the bar, she glances around, pleased to find that it wasn’t overflowing with customers. Good, she wasn’t really in the mood for interacting with crowds. Finding herself an empty seat by the bar counter, she rests her chin on her arm, and smiles at the bartender as the menu slips in front of her.
Aria takes her time deciding what to order, her eyes travelling on the piece of paper but occasionally she finds herself looking up from the menu and her eyes flicker towards the bartender. Smiling to herself, she puts the menu down and orders a cosmopolitan.
While waiting for her drink to be served, she takes another look around the bar. Naturally, she wasn’t the only customer present, but everyone was minding their own business and no one seemed to really take notice of her.
When the drink was finally placed in front of her, she thanked the bartender, “Tough day, huh?” The sarcasm was evident in her voice, the way her lips quirked up in a teasing way and she takes a small sip from the drink, her eyes never leaving his.
Leo shouldn't have been here tonight since he didn't have a shift tonight. However this wasn't an uncommon thing since the other bartenders would often call in sick and ask him to help take over their shifts instead. He had no problems with this though some would think he worked too much but there wasn't anything else to do. Some would say he had no life, which was true to some degree.
He refused to go out in fear of running into anyone, mutant or human. The only reason why he was out here was to pay his bills. He moved out as soon as he reached the legal age from the family who took him in ages ago since he didn't want to be a burden to them. If he could, he would lock himself inside all day everyday but sadly that couldn't be his reality.
Instead, he found a low key job which had decent pay. The most he had to do was lend a ear to those who visit the bar and was having a rough day, but not often would it escalate to anything more. A fight or two, but that was it. The rest of the staff could handle everything else.
When he gave her the drink, Leo proceeded in cleaning up the counter and the shakers. At her question, he looked up and gave a light shrug.
"S'okay.." He mumbled, already fidgeting slightly under her gaze. Leo simply wasn't great with people.

The sudden tension in the air appeared with such a significant rapidity that it confirmed Cecilia’s suspicion before the male even turned around. Such a soft hearted soul. Such a gentle mind. Such a fragile young man. Cecilia could firmly hear his free will crumble in her open palm. With preceded care did she approach the matter, taking note of all the tiny, yet important details. How his shoulder’s stiffed and how he stopped whatever had kept him occupied. The female believed there would have been glass shattering had he been holding one in his fingers.
With her elbow resting on the table, she leaned forward confidently, finger tapping against her lips while her chin rested on her palm. Barely able to contain the evil cackle from escaping her lips, she settled for a smitten smile. Her expression fell as he finally did turn, brows raised to mirror his confusion, playing dense. “What?” She asked in return, pretending for a moment as if she hadn’t uttered a single word.
Never would she forget his eyes; those round doe eyes ready to melt anyone’s soul. On the flip side though, to which Cecilia belonged, it made people want to make use of him and abuse his lack of confidence and that overflowing kindness. It was just so very easy to manipulate him into anything she wanted.
Receiving the confirmation she had needed, the student adjusted her position, exhaling a tired sigh. “I said I’d like a long island ice tea please.” Still playing it cool, she simply smiled at him in a more innocent manner, partly contrary to the rest of her visual appearance. Red lips curled upwards into a sweet smile she waited, wondering what kind of reaction she would trigger from him this time around.
The woman looked just as confused as he was to the point that Leo started doubting himself again. On top of his low confidence, the young bartender was incredibly easy to read despite how hard he tried not to be. His fleeting eyes scanning the room for any clue to whom it could have come from while his long digits fiddling with the towel in his hand, picking off the small threads that threatened to come loose. His heart thumped so hard he sworn he could hear it.
Unfortunately there was no one except for the woman before him and when he was about to ask her if she had said something, she said that she had ordered a drink. He could only stare at her momentarily before realizing that what she said had nothing to do with someone calling him a griffon. Stumbling over his words as he mumbled to her that her drink will be prepared shortly, Leo spun around a bit too quickly and accidentally knocked over an empty glass.
The crash of the now broken glass caught the attention of many and Leo could only muttered a quiet apology and quickly picked up the pieces. He gathered a small pile near his feet before going ahead and preparing the simple drink. Not long after, he gently set the beverage in front of the woman and returned to the pile of shards. As he was picking them up, the male hissed as a sharp pain ran through him. Blood was found oozing out of his finger.
"Shit.." He cursed as he grabbed the towel he had been playing with earlier and wiped all the excess blood before running his hand under the water.
dream me up a nightmare.
( elxtaekwoon )
Semantics is what she recalls hearing when she’s knee deep in slime and filth, the metallic scent of blood rusting, and the lingering miasma of death. Dasom hated these kinds of dreams the most. It is never really the images that haunted her in her sleep, but rather the pungent, nearly suffocating stench of rotting flesh burning in the back of her throat that makes her physical body gag in the real world. It is the creepy, crawling inkling of something she couldn’t quite see draping over her entire being when she finds herself temporarily stuck inside a dreamer’s recurring nightmare.
Dasom did not believe in things like Fate and coincidence. She thought it was a load of bullshit, but her father had taught her growing up that things happened for a reason. That some things, people, were meant to happen, to meet. Everything has meaning, Dasom, he’d said all those times she woke up screaming in the middle of the night. She just wished she could’ve been given an easier dream to decipher. Like a cow heading to the slaughterhouse. For all she knows, the dreamer could just be hungry and wanted Korean barbecue when they woke up.
But no. Of all the dreamscapes to land herself in, she just had to land in this one—a twelve year old’s greatest fear. A living nightmare. And there he was. The boy in question, standing frozen as he watches his mother get shot over and over again. Fantastic. Dasom could’ve exited out (easy peasy) but something about the boy’s face seems familiar. The scene itself playing with the deceptive ease of a film dissolve—the boy, the mill of people, the dead mother. Her. She’s seen this exact nightmare before—in real time with her own eyes..
"Kid," neither a question nor a statement; her voice is a mere whisper and it echoes all around them. Still, Dasom makes the conscious decision to render herself invisible, to avoid revealing her true form just in case she had the wrong person (though, she was rarely ever wrong. His dream imprint was the same. There was no mistaking it. They’d met before).
For so many years, Leo found himself having the same dream - nightmare in his opinion - almost every night. The day he found out his powers, what he really was, and all the chaos that had happened within the span of a few minutes constantly replayed in his mind, giving the boy nothing but restless nights.
There he was again in his 12 year old form. The naive little boy who was full of light as a child now stood there in the street. He didn't recall that day being so dark, so musky but perhaps it was because of the daunting moments that made it appear this way.
There in the middle of the street, was his mother fighting against someone he didn't even recall the face to. Blood splattered everywhere each time his mother was shot. Painting the ground, the shooter's clothes and face, simply everywhere. And to watch this happen over, and over again was unbearable but Leo couldn't look away. He staid frozen on the spot. Helpless, much like how he was before. He couldn't move his feet even though he wanted to run over and protect his mother, to save her from their grasps. But no, he stood there while he watched his mother fall lifeless every single time.
But tonight, something different happened. There was a voice which caused Leo to look away to see what it was. The only thing that had caused him to stop watching the scene for the first time.
There was nothing. The child scanned around but there was no one there. Thinking he might have heard wrong, he returned to the scene just to see the shooter kicked his dead mother in the side.
”I’ll walk you home!”
Her offer surprised the bartender. It wasn’t everyday when someone offers to walk Taekwoon home and by Jessica-noona nonetheless. Subconsciously running his fingers through his hair shyly, and immediately dropping his eye contact to the ground, he gave a light shrug in response to her claim.
He didn’t mind being walked home but it didn’t feel right to him. While he was sure it had no meaning behind it and perhaps she wanted to see him home safe, there was a nagging feeling within him that made him feel as if he was a child.
"…You don’t have to…" He mumbled as he shoved his shy hands into his jean pockets. "S-shouldn’t I be the one to walk you home?" Though his life hadn’t been the most normal - but really, what was normal to mutants - Leo was taught to be a gentleman, despite his quietness. He felt that it should be him who would walk her home instead of the other way around.
”Goddamnit, don’t be such a pussy.”
Narrowed eyes honed in on the source of the voice. Leo decided not to comment on it, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t bothered by it. Though he never claimed to be confident or heroic of any sort. Being called a pussy was uncalled for.
A small tick of a tongue and the mysticial beast shapeshifter turned away as he looked out into the fight that broke out just a few moments ago. He didn’t even know how it happened. Whatever caused this chaos escalated much too quickly. Drunks? Mutants? Humans? A combo of the three? If this was one of those mutants versus humans fight, this surely wasn’t going to turn out well at all for anyone.
"…It’s called being cautious." His voice ever so quiet as he continued to observe the scene. All he wanted to do was ensure that he wasn’t going to get caught up in this. Leo liked his peace and quiet. This was the complete opposite of that.

「professional pick-me-up」-- nicole & taekwoon
Yongjoo feigned an upsetted expression, smooth lips curving into a pout as she adjusted her position on the bar stool. ”Can’t I visit my favorite bartender?” She wasn’t genuinely upset by Taekwoon’s typically broody behavior; after all, it was just the way he was and she had learned to accept that. Still, it didn’t deter the older from teasing the younger mutant from time to time, if not to have him lighten up and maybe smile for once. Her intentions were by no means malicious, nor had she come here to make his life all the more difficult and miserable. In many ways, Yongjoo was behaving much like an older sister would with her younger sibling: playful, slightly overbearing yet protective. Taekwoon might not perceive her as a sisterly figure at this point in time but the polymorph remained hopeful that he’ll one day realize she only wanted him to be happy.
Until then, the metallic mutant would merely result to her usual antics which consisted of poking fun out of him whenever the opportunity presented itself, using her humor as a means of breaking the ice and perhaps facilitating a friendly conversation between friends. ”I was in the neighborhood, so I figured I might as well drop by and see how you’re doing. My noona senses were telling me that you were in a foul mood”. The corner of her lips curled into another genuine smile, hand reaching out to grab one of the glasses placed on the bar table so she could slowly and aimlessly run the tip of her metallic finger along the rounded edge, humming faintly in thought. No harm in visiting a friend, right?
He arched a brow, showing just how much he believed her claim but he didn't comment on it. When they first met, Taekwoon was genuinely intrigued by the other especially with how she walked about confidently unlike him. It would be the day when he could do that himself. While it never crossed his mind that the two of them would be at least acquaintances, here they were. Ever since what happened, Taekwoon found it hard to let himself care for someone.
It was perhaps one of the most cliche things in the world, but there really was no other explanation for it. He was scared to let anyone in. Having his mother taken away from him hurts and he was only 12 at the time; a time when he didn't really understand how the world works. But now that he did, and he knew fear so much more, befriending someone was hard for him.
His eyes automatically trained onto the glass he had just previously cleaned that he hadn't had the chance to put back onto the shelf.
"Your..noona senses..." He said, deadpanned. "That's not a thing."
His words mumbled as he was reminded why he was in a foul mood in the first place. Just when he was briefly distracted from it because of her surprise yet not so surprise appearance.
hint → jae&leo
It was late afternoon, a thick, noxious fog hanging over the streets, cold wind blowing, and the city seemed to have lost all its colour. The sky was grey, looking like it was on the brink of rain, and though the street lights valiantly tried to shine their way through the fog, it seemed like the grayness had swallowed everything whole, leaving behind only desolate looking streets.
Not even the shopping streets were as busy as usual, only the rare, crazed shopper still wandering about, while everyone else was hidden safely inside the warmth of their respective abodes.
Jae had no fucking clue why he wasn’t in his own apartment as well right at that moment intime.
While the prospect of a walk hadstill seemed like a good idea two hours ago, when he’d been pretty much dying of boredom and not even a bottle of bourbon to keep him company, he deeply regretted that decision now.
Deciding for himself he would walk into the next place that served some form of alcohol, he turned a corner and his eyes fell onto a lone figure huddled against a wall, as if trying to blend entirely into the grey stone. It was only when he took a few steps closer that he recognized him — the timid bartender he’d talked to a few times. Leo, or something like that.
(( what is he doing out here? ))
For a brief moment he wondered if he should pretend he hadn’t seen him and move on. Then he realized that, while he didn’t really know him, Jae could use the company and hell, Leo could probably use a drink as much as he did, if not even more. So instead of walking on, he stopped, cocking his head, studying the sad sack before him.
It was hard to keep the smirk from his voice as he exhaled the words.
“You look like you could use some alcohol. That’s fortunate, because I’m in need of it as well. Buy you a drink? Or two? Or five?”
Leo's first thought was to ignore whoever it was approached him. He was simply not in the mood - not that he ever was when dealing with other people. But tonight had a very good reason to why he didn't want to talk to. He even took the day off to come here and surely he didn't look all that approachable or at least he had hoped.
Shaking his head, he silently declined the offer. Despite being the bartender of a bar, Leo wasn't much of a drinker. He never really liked the taste of liquor with it being bitter and whatnot. Some people offered him a 'sweeter' drink but still Leo had other opinions of it. There were plenty of drunks at the bar and the longer he had worked there, th emore he never understood why people loved drinking so much they end up having hangovers the next day. Waking up with a headache never appealed with him.
Finally bringing his eyes up on the stranger, he was taken aback when he saw his boss standing before him. Immediately standing up, he dipped his head slightly as a greet. He felt like a child getting caught but he didn't do anything wrong. He didn't call in sick; he simply took the day off but somehow, he felt guilty that he wasn't at work when he wasn't ill.
"Oh.. it's you...." He spluttered in surprise.

she likes seeing familiar faces, most of all—but this one is so much more special than all the others. uninhibited, rubber soles carry light feet across the room. he hasn’t gotten up yet, so she takes the seat next to him; her shoulders look so small and narrow now that the heavy costume has been lifted; makeup halfway wiped off; hair let loose and cascading in waves down her shoulders instead of ribboned into a tight bun. there’s an easy smile on her lips, warm and friendly; big brown eyes that only seem brighter without the lights } sooo, which show did you like better? this one or the last? { ` she asks, blinking long lashes; an expression that reads hi, i’ve noticed you, hi, did you like the show, did you like me? }
{ Leo always loved going to the circus. No one would have known this since for one, he never voiced it, and he rarely went himself. Who could have blamed him? The boy spent most of his childhood shutting himself off from society and once he grown up, he deemed himself too old to be attending such an event.
Of course, he knew that the circus was meant for all ages but Leo thought it was slightly embarrassing for a young adult to attend alone. Most others had a companion or a family - none of which he had or at least thought he had. He had shut everyone out that he was sure even his oldest friend wouldn't have wanted to be in his presence anymore.
But here he was, sitting at one of the closer seats to the ring, wide-eyed fascinated with all the bright colours and acts that he could never do - at least without the help of his powers. And there was that one act that always had him coming back more than once. He didn't know how often he came here just to watch her but it had to be more that enough.
When the show ended and people were shuffling around, somewhat impatiently to leave. Leo remained seated in his seat with his brown eyes still looking at the set he had seen so many times already. His eyes roamed to the rings and other things that were locked in place now that the acts were finished. Endless thoughts swirled in his mind as he imagined what it'd be like to fly about on those like the acrobats he had saw.
A female voice snapped him out of his thoughts which in turn, made him jolt over to the seat next to him.
When did she come here? Who was sh- oh.
As shock and surprise blew over, he realized that she was one of the performers. The one he had been fascinated about. His eyes lowered to the ground as his natural habit kicked in. Despite being a bartender, he was terrible with interaction. Being rude wasn't his intention, but having eyes on him was uncomfortable. His eyes flickered up to her every now and then as if if he looked up this time, she might not be here. }
....They were .. T-They were both really good.

Happiness, utter happiness is what was displayed on the young detective’s features for two main reasons. The joy on being able to spend an entire day rolled on an blanket alongside an white mug that steamed her favorite energy outlet, caffeine. The other reasons, even if she denied it, it was an meet up she was going to have with a few of her colleagues from back home and let time rewind to the past. When she received the call, Hyuna wondered what they were doing or how they were doing. From the few memories she was able to recall, they were a group of teens that dreamed louder than anyone and had the sense of justice encrusted on their hearts. Her fondest one was the effervescent smiles that seemed to be attached on their lips. For the female, it was the opposite. Wherever her footsteps could be heard, work was already there with an lopsided grin. That pride and joy she used to carry started to be tainted with endless paperwork stacked on her wooden table where several post-its would be stuck on the top with the infamous signature with the due date underlined. With her fingers laced between each other, Hyuna hoped that today such words as ‘case’, ‘help’, ‘murder’ wouldn’t fall upon her.
Entering on the underground bustling streets made her wonder why they would choose such place. With her squinted chocolate hues, the word ‘trouble’ was clearly framed on the surroundings. The lingering aroma of intoxication, a few laughter echoing on the streets as well furrowed eyebrows alongside endless bickering. Yet, she couldn’t expect more. the young detective understood the thrill such areas gave to them. With an heavy sigh, Hyuna adventured deeper on the streets with the crumbled paper between her slender fingers trying to find the route to the “busiest bar around the neighborhood.”
After a few minutes, the woman could hear faint footsteps coming towards her direction. Rapid with an pace that increased by the second, her muscles tensing up at how the sound seemed to grow louder. Her position getting ready for any outcome but she managed to stumble off with the unexpected. The silhouette easily passed through her alongside two other individuals. In the instance, her body was already impulsing her to follow them. Hyuna wasn’t sure herself why would she do such thing, might be an savage sensation devouring her control.
After following them for a few minutes, it seemed that one of the males had disappeared causing her focus to break for a few moments. Before she could have blinked, her target wasn’t at her reach anymore. “Shit.” The mummer slipping off, letting it roll with bitterness. Even subconsciously, her blood started to boil on anger leading her own steps quickening. With an turn, Hyuna was able to reach him but what her visage encountered wasn’t what she expected. Her hues glanced upwards the other male that was following him whom disappeared a few moments was there beside the now unconscious target.
Various scenarios started to pop up on her imagination but to her dismay, none appealed to her leading such outcome. “You.” Her voice piercing through the silence encountering the anxious features from the man. Snatching up her police identification from her pocket, letting it speak for itself. “care to explain, sir?” Her tone enhancing the last one.
Leo was terrified that he may have accidentally killed the man, after all, that wasn't his intention. He only meant to stop him so that when the girl caught up, he wouldn't be too much trouble for the other if things took a sudden turn. With a shaky hand, the scared male lightly slapped the unconscious one on the cheek.
"H-Hey?" He tried again but still had no reaction. It was only when he saw the chest come up and down vaguely did Leo relax. Breathing was good. Breathing meant alive and kicking. Well, not kicking but alive nonetheless. Now he felt bad for rendering him unconscious and to have him lay here on top of a garbage pile made him feel even worse than he already was. Maybe Leo should have left this alone and gone straight to his shop as planned.
What would people do if they saw this man sleeping here? What would happen when said man woke up and remembered what happened? What if this man remembered who was the one who attacked him? Leo shook his head as he thought it was dumb to be dwelling over that since he wasn't in his human form when he flew right into him. However, if the man recalled a griffon, then it wouldn't be long before things were traced back to him. Leo hadn't really kept up with all the mutants in the world or even in the same city, but he hadn't heard another with his powers. What did he know really? Leo spent so much time to himself, he may as well be cut off from society if it weren't for his job.
"You"
The tone in her voice was enough to bring shivers to his spine. Had he been caught? Was she an extremist? Was she going to take him in for being a mutant? Endless reasons occupied his mind as he started to panic. Was he going to die right here and now?
The male shrunk his head into his shoulders before turning slightly around to look over his shoulder.
"Explain...?" He trailed off while his eyes drew back to the body beside him, "Um... I uh.. he um..." Stuttering and stumbling over every word, Leo had no idea how he was supposed to explain this.
"He tripped."
