It's a drug. Not in a metaphorical way, either. It fits in perfectly, but is disregarded for its acceptability and liquid-to-mouth form.

Seeing your friends drunk isn't funny. It doesn't help you connect. They tell you secrets they never wanted to share; ones that you need to compartmentalize.

They become vulnerable. They make irrational desicions. They call your younger friend a bad influence, and that makes him cry.

Alcohol is a drug. Drugs interact! If you're under the influence of alchohol, and you're offered something, will you take it?

I thought he was a goner. There was a premonition. I get those, sometimes. Usually they're (right, wrong, "Pick your favourite answer out of those"). Your neck tics and it's harsh ebough to damage it for two days, so far.

You report the scoundrel who gave it to them. You thought he was cute. He lived close to you, you told him, "We could become best friends!". But he was a liar. I think there were demonic forces at play, that night. I think my god saved him.

Your friend knew of his malevolence.

Alcohol isn't a baby drug. It isn't "no big deal". It's the real thing. And the real thing is terrifying.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
