sir please thats my emotional support song that i first heard on a 8tracks playlist in 2014
sir please thats my emotional support song that i first heard on an amv in 240p on youtube in 2009 and that i can only re-listen on youtube because it tastes better there
sir please that's my emotional support song that I illegally downloaded from Napster in 1999, and I still don't know what it's actually called. The file said "wonderwall by Oasis" but it's not. I can only hear it on this cd I burned called "????" filled with mysterious mislabeled songs.

Carl is the most photogenic snake I've ever met. He poses like a model, holds perfectly still while I snap photos, and will even sometimes let me adjust him slightly.
Total himbo.

is anyone else on this hill or is it just me and sisyphus and kate bush?
Ok so the thing about reading like books which are "predictable" is that I, a story enjoyer, go completely bonkers about it bc its like Enrichment in my Enclosure. A scene parallels another earlier scene between different characters thus serving to highlight the differences in their views and priorities???? A line makes me think "hmmm I bet that's gonna be relevant later" ends up being relevant later????? I am a tiger chewing ice cubes out of a pumpkin. I'm so so happy. Please foreshadow more things. Throw the completely anticipateable plot beats at me like catnip mousies!!!!!
YEAH!!!!!!
what's your 'thing' as a friend. i don't mean like 'oh im the mom friend' i mean like what's the Thing where if one of your friends was looking for a specific interaction they'd message you first. personally i can always be relied upon to get hyped about bugs, literature, and cursed internet images.
Absolutely random information and advice.

Badass female-fronted or all-female bands you should check out already:
CHVRCHES: Oh, have I mentioned that I love CHVRCHES? I donāt think I have ever mentioned that I love CHVRCHES before. Let me just keep gushing about how they pump out countless great electropop tracks, and Lauren Mayberry is an angelic vocal presence, and the production is so much fun to listen to.
The Aces: Same as CHVRCHES, I donāt think Iāve EVER mentioned The Aces before. They balance pop and rock with snappy instrumentation and endlessly catchy hooks. Theyāre underrated AF.Ā
Paramore: A classic one weāve got here. Whether youāre into their older, more emo-punk sound or their newer, more pop-rock vibe, youāre bound to find something you like. Hayley Williams is a wonderful vocalist. (Have you seen the videos of her performing live in the studio? Itās insane!)Ā
Pale Waves: Iād heard of them from time to time and recently checked out their latest album. I wish Iād listened to them sooner, because it was really good. Theyāre sound is a blends of everything, emo/punk/pop/electronic/rock, Iāve heard them compared to the 1975, (not to mention Heather Baron-Gracieās iconic eyeshadow looks.)
Glades: I donāt understand why they arenāt bigger. Glades have a lot of catchy electropop songs that range from upbeat and danceable to soothing and chill. Iām in love with Karina Wykesās vocals.Ā
Fickle Friends: On the search for electropop groups in the vein of CHVRCHES, I came across Fickle Friends. Their music is peppy and upbeat and a whole lot of fun to dance to. Theyāve been releasing music for years, and their debut album is great start to end.
The Pretty Reckless: Iād like to thank Supernatural for getting me into this band when they playedĀ āMake Me Wanna Dieā in an episode, because now Iāve discovered one of my favorite kick-ass rock bands. Who knew Jenny Humphrey could go that hard?Ā
Black Honey: If youāre into that rock-punk sound with a retro throwback vibe, check them out. Izzy B. Phillips has a ton of personality on the vocals. Thanks to YouTube for recommending one of their wonderfully aesthetic and impressive music videos to me.Ā
Dream Wife: I came across them on the hunt for all-female rock bands. I had no clue that they would rock so hard, I was shaken the first time I listened to them. If you want full-on, noisy, headbanging rock music, they dropped their debut album.Ā
Dorothy: Even if you donāt know Dorothy, you probably know Dorothy. Their songs have been in The Originals, The Vampire Diaries, Wynonna Earp, Pretty Little Liars, Orange Is The New Black, and a bunch of other shows. (I first heard one of their songs in a video game add.) Their first album, Rockisdead, is stuffed to the brim with bangers, and their second album, 28 Days In The Valley, takes a bit of a different approach, but is still good.Ā
Goat Girl: A bit more alternative with a twinge of rock, this band is probably the weirdest on this list, but donāt let that deter you. Their songs have incredible range in tone. The lead singer Lottie has a deeper, more complex voice.Ā
Bahari: This band is so gosh darned summery. They have an array of summer jams on their EP, but have also released chiller, more edgy singles. Their electronic/pop/acoustic sound is quite enjoyable.Ā
MisterWives: Their music is just a ton of fun. Itās sparkly, upbeat pop with a bit of alternative and electronic sprinkles throughout. Theyāve got a similar sound to St. Lucia. The lead singer, Mandy Lee, has a voice that I can only describe as a cross between Shakira and Halsey.Ā
Listen to a mix of my faves from these bands!Ā Do you listen to any of these bands? Do you have any recommendations for female-fronted or all-female bands? Maybe Iāll make a part 2 in the future.Ā
Check out the band PVRIS, led by amazingly talented lesbian singer Lynn Gunn!!!
Also Screaming Females! And Bad cop/Bad cop - both great bands of this ilk, off the top of my head
Arkona and Shireen and EivĆør come to mind
The butchies is an all female all butch lesbian rock band you should check out!
Otep, First Aid Kit, Hole, Jack Off Jill, Emilie Autumn, Birthday Massacre, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Fleetwood Mac, Mykur, Creepshow, Horrorpops.
Pascal pinon!!! Icelandic but also some songs in english. Amazing vocals, quite dreamy, but also fun and light. I saw them live and they have a tiny little synth it was fab
If I can recommend a few older ones:
Throwing Muses
Alt Rock fronted by two female singers whose voices play off one another really well. Harsh but poetic lyricism (still active but with only one of the singers)
Skunk Anansie
Alt metal / hard rock band lead by the incredible Skin (Deborah Dyer) who has the most perfect voice for the genre, a mix of delicate, angelic croons with the biggest raw power. Sheās been my crush since high-school.
Sleater-Kinney
Donāt ask me about the name, but itās a classic feminist riot-grrrl, now more indie-rock leaning. All female band, still active, with some of the best records of the 2000.
The Breeders
Alt rock/indie band with Kim Deal from The Pixies and Tanya Donnelly from Throwing Muses, being able to explore their own material and creative influences. They are just too cool.
Lush
Shoegaze / Noise Pop / Britpop. One of my favorite bands ever and so underrated. Fronted by also two women, Miki Berenyi and Emma Anderson, this bandās songs go from the bitingly satyrical (like the incredibly funny Ladykiller, about male narcissists) to the dreamy, psychedelic and profound. Donāt miss it.
The Slits
Legendary all female punk band from the era of British punk explosion. Chaotic, artsy, wild, experimental and incredible fun. They sound way better than you might expect, too.
Le Tigre
Electroclash / Dance Punk. Formed by Johana Fateman and Kathleen Hannah, the singer from riot-grrrl classic Bikini Kill. Feminist and pro-LGBT activism in the Form of a danceable electronic collage. Very cool.
Lush is one of my very favorites.
Some additional suggestions:
Slowdive - for your shoegaze needs. Rachel Goswellās instagram is also filled with kittens
My Bloody Valentine - another classic shoegaze band. Their album, Loveless, basically defined the genre
Cocteau Twins - Dream Pop. Elizabeth Fraser is an amazing singer
Mazzy Star - classic 90s alternative/dream pop. Hope Sandoval is wonderful
Frankie Rose - awesome synth pop/rock. Definitely worth checking out
L7 - for your more metal/punk inspired alt rock. These women are badasses
Lucifer - Johanna Sadonis is another amazing singer. Heavy metal, but in a retro 70s way
More suggestions:
Shonen Knife, Cibo Matto, Babes in Toyland, X, X-ray Spex, 45 Grave, Plasmatics, Xmal Deutschland, Dead Can Dance, The Horrors, and This Mortal Coil

What the fuck do neurotypicals talk about. I tried telling my mom about a show that I really like and explained the symbolism and she made fun of me for ātalking about a tv series for like 20 minutesā. Same with like 4 other people around my age. All of them even told me outloud they wanted to hear me talk but then mocked me for actually being serious. I do not understand
me at a NT person: do you mind if I tell you about x?
Them: sure!
Me: speaks for 5 minutes interrupted
Them: not every thought you have needs to be said :))))
me: oh. *never speaks again until we leave that wretched place*
this isnāt a neurotypical thing yāall. this is an asshole (at best) thing.
youāre being treated poorly by people who donāt care about the interests and thoughts of others and enjoy hurting peopleās feelings, belittling their interests, etc. this is not normal at all and iām really sorry people have done this to you
like again, none of this is true. this is not the norm. iām gonna try to be gentle here, but the comments on this post are⦠not good.
1. this might be the most important point: you cannot tell if someone is disabled or mentally ill based on their interests or how they talk or how they present themselves. you cannot assume someone is neurotypical because they like things you donāt. you also should not forget about masking, which people will especially do at places like work.
2. most people have as many interests and as rich of inner lives as you and itās potentially harmful to assume they donāt. it leads to you dehumanizing and potentially really hurting those around you. ātheyāre not as smart/insightful/interesting as meā is not a great approach to socialization
3. just because something doesnāt interest you, doesnāt mean itās objectively uninteresting or meaningless. and no one is all deep conversation all the time. most disabled and mentally ill people i know, myself included, also like talking about our jobs, pets, etc.
4. you are upset by people dismissing your interests while⦠dismissing peopleās interests. a lot of the comments are just dissing people for not being interested in talking about film/tv or for liking things like sports.
5. iām autistic and i hear that autistic people are āgiftedā or āsuper geniusesā or whatever a lot and itās dehumanizing. the idea that i have some deeper insight or heightened intelligence because of my disability is not helpful.
6. sometimes conversation is about give and take you will need to listen to and talk about things that donāt interest you much because you value the person you are talking to and they deserve a turn to share
tl;dr: people who dismiss your interests are rude, cruel, and/or doing so unintentionally. call them out or try to distance yourself from them. surround yourself with people who care to listen. at the same time, people who talk about things that donāt interest you are not inherently boring, shallow, or neurotypical. neurodivergent people can and do talk about things like the weather and going shopping.
This was actually something I needed to teach my ND son. He has esoteric interests, and he's very informed about them. It's great! But the important thing when talking to other people is that very few people want to listen to a monologue. If you are talking for twenty minutes about something without active participation from the other person, you aren't having a conversation. You are having a monologue. Many people regardless of being neuro divergent or neuro typical find this unpleasant.
Conversation requires respect and kindness from both people. No matter how excited you might be about a topic, they might not want to be your audience. It's important to give and take. Talk about your interests, but also listen and engage with their interests.
My son still tells me all about the things he enjoys, and I still enjoy hearing about them. But he's also learned to show interest in the person he's talking to, and incorporate their interests in what he shares about his. For example, he knows I enjoy history and art, so he'll tell me about places where his interests intersect with various historical events, or tell me about craftsmanship or art related things that he's learned that relate to his interests. And so we can have a conversation where both of us are engaged and enjoy the time we spend talking.
