my Roman Empire is that Tarrlok was a talented bender but their father never saw that because compared to Noatak, Tarrlok was disappointing.

he’s the youngest person to ever learn bloodbending considering he was 7 when it was taught to him ( you could argue in the scene where he’s all ‘stop you’re hurting him’ he didn’t know bloodbending yet but he still would’ve learnt it at an age that was younger than when Noatak learnt it ), and the youngest person to bloodbend without a full moon. That’s definitely impressive but compared to Noatak who never complained about bloodbending and and was the youngest person to do psychic bloodbending, Tarrlok was just meh.

You could agree that Tarrlok wasn’t talented in bending if you looked at that one scene where Noatak and Tarrlok are training in waterbending, but come onnn. He was definitely around 5, which is when you typically get bending I beleive, and was learning a whole new part of himself. Plus if you think about, once again he was just meh compared to Noatak. If they were doing something more suited for Tarrloks level, obviously Noataks gonna be better, if they’re doing something at Noataks level, obviously Tarrloks gonna struggle. BECAUSE NOATAK IS 3 YEARS OLDER THAN TARRLOK, WHY DIDNT THAT CLICK IN YAKONES HEAD
