hiatus notice.

i’ve been pretty absent lately and i wanted to apologize/give an explanation of sorts about why that is. part of it has to do with the stress i’m dealing with in my life and part of it has to do with the fact that i don’t feel entirely comfortable in the indie community anymore?? it has nothing to do with anyone i’’m interacting with — everyone i follow and write with has been such a pleasure — but i’ve realized that i’ll sign on and just??? feel completely unmotivated to do anything, even after moving blogs and getting a fresh start. i kinda feel like i need to take a step back and figure out what i wanna do with this account, if i plan on coming back, etc. anyway, this is just a little thing to let everyone know why i fell off the face of the earth. i hope everyone’s been doing well.

trying to get his attention this way made her feel a little cheap, in all honesty; sex was something devon usually turned to because she wanted to, not as a last resort. but, with the way heath seemed cold and distant from her, refusing to return any of the attention and affection she gave him, devon couldn’t help but to wonder if maybe she’d done something wrong, the thought of him pulling away being far too much for her to bear. her craving for his attention seemed to increase the more he pulled away, and she was willing to do whatever it took to get a little bit from him, even if it was just physical; and so, even though she’d been left exhausted by a full day of classes, devon took the time to shower and blow dry her hair, brushing through the locks until she made sure they were soft to the touch, picking out her nicest pair of underwear and one of his shirts to go along with it in order to present herself as appealing as possible. she never really knew when he’d be getting home from the hospital, and so she fidgeted as she waited, unable to really focus on anything until she heard the door open. sighing out and running a hand through her hair once more, devon got up and out of the bedroom to greet him, putting on a smile that did seem to come easier when he was around before standing on the tip of her toes to wrap her arms around his neck and kiss him on the cheek. “i’m glad you’re home,” she said, head tilting slightly to the side as her teeth sunk onto her lower lip, not wanting for her intentions to go over his head completely. “i missed you.”

there were times when heath wondered why he had subjected himself to the hell that was his medical residency when he could have chosen a number of professions that were far less rigorous and time-consuming. despite the newly implemented rules concerning maximum duty hours, he was working a minimum of 16 hours a day in a high stress environment, surviving off of double shot espressos and redbulls, and precariously straddling the line between overworked and dead on his feet. perhaps the worst of it all was the fact that he was away from home so much, barely putting any time into a relationship that deserved far more, distancing himself from devon and constantly leaving her to her own devices. after his most recent shift, he’d hitched a ride with another resident and fallen into a fitful slumber during the brief journey home, somehow feeling significantly worse when he’d been shaken awake. bleary-eyed with exhaustion, he’d fumbled with his keys for a good minute or so before he was able to unlock the door, a flash of surprise crossing his features when he was greeted with the unexpected appearance of his girlfriend. it was impossible not to notice the way she’d dressed herself, the suggestive way she bit into her bottom lip, the way she positioned herself relative to him. knowing exactly what she wanted but lacking the energy to indulge her, heath forced a tight smile and pressed a chaste kiss on her forehead. “devon, hey,” he mumbled against her skin, gently tugging on her arms until they slipped from his neck. pulling away from her, he offered her a tired smile, murmuring a semblance of missed you too before edging around her toward the kitchen for a cold beer. once he located a bottle at the very back of the fridge, he cracked it open and slumped into a seat at their dining table, heaving a weary sigh before taking a sip of his drink, too fatigued to care whether or not devon had decided to join him. @backbcnes

but my all time fav plot idea is: muse a is a rich cocky boy, has everything going for him, good looks, wealth, girls at his feet until muse b shows up, she’s sleek, gorgeous, smart, but she’s only after one thing, muse a’s money, & suddenly the player is being played, & she’s got this gold little credit card he’s given her that she uses whenever she wants to pay for whatever she wants, & he’s practically down on his knees for her, she’s got him drunk on her love, the ecstasy of her touch & she just sucks him dry of everything, until he’s nothing.
