“Last night, as I was sleeping, I dreamt, blessed illusion! that there was a beehive within my heart. And the golden bees were hard at work making white combs and sweet honey from my old bitterness.”
— Antonio Machado, from “ Last Night as I Was Sleeping” (via both-seeker-and-sought)
Your weaknesses are opportunities for Jesus to reveal His grace in your life.
You have permission to eat. Even if you:
haven’t exercised
eaten too much yesterday
eaten too much today
don’t know the exact nutritional value of the meal
have gained weight
aren’t feeling hungry ‘enough’
feel like you don’t deserve it
i definitely needed this.
“You cannot love a fellow creature fully till you love God.”
— C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce

One of the greatest markers of greatness is longevity. Stay the course.
Legacy can’t be created in a year. Five years isn’t enough time either. Keep your hand to the plow for 20+ years and then look up to see what God has done.
20+ years of marriage.
20+ years of ministry.
20+ years of prayer.
20+ years of friendship.
20+ years of faithfulness.
20+ years of sowing seeds.
Weeds grow in a week. Oak trees develop over decades.
Stop expecting and evaluating your results too soon.
Is there a verse about words being powerful? Or is that just a (true) saying?
Proverbs 15:4 “Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
Does anyone ever feel the constant need to talk about what happened to them and then feel ashamed for wanting to talk about it and then feel like you’re drowning because you need to get it out or is that just me
Me: I don’t have the energy for this
Someone: For what?
Me: *gestures vaguely*
Jesus, I just really need you today.
I’m not much like myself any more.
F. Scott Fitzgerald

sometimes you just need a blanket and music and vanilla scented candles
I want….to bake a loaf of sourdough, pet a lamb, hold a cat, climb a tree, boil the kettle, pick raspberries, plant seeds, weed gardens, harvest carrots, sauté with garlic, tie my apron, take my frocks off the laundrey line, wear daisy garlands, watch it rain from a rocker on my porch, call my dog in from the field, fall in love
