Okay, first off all: congrats to finnland for winning worlds (let's go lenni!!!),

But more importantly, I've been trying to get over Switzerland's loss again tonight so that I can actually sleep well, and I just realised:

Doesn't it actually say more about the quality and strength of an ice hockey team if said team manages to get to the final at worlds several years in a row even without actually winning gold (in Switzerland's case three consecutive years), than having a team get to the final one year and winning gold but not having appeared in the final for consecutive years or several years in a row?

Don't know if there's actually anything row it or if it's just some desperate part of my brain trying to help me deal with the outcome of today's final game...

But also: it's been a great day for European ice hockey, with all three medal going to European countries and Norway even winning their first ever worlds medal!!!
