This isn’t controversial. Sangcheng makes sense. Even more than Xicheng, despite liking them both. I can imagine Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang fooling around while studying at the Cloud Recesses and during the 13-16 years Wei Wuxian was dead.
Am I watching My Royal Nemesis simply because I noticed it was color-coded?
NO! I started watching it because I noticed the almost $4,000 red leather Gucci purse.
And that's how I realized the purse (along with everything else) was color relevant.
So now I am watching it because it's color coded.
But that's not the only reason I'm watching it! I'm also watching it because it's sun and moon coded/light x dark dynamic, which is why an eclipse happened in both timelines.
But also, there's a whole thing about red flowers, specifically peonies, "the king of flowers," and how they are the most beautiful flower in a garden full of beautiful flowers.
(The flowers are her)
Because she was the most beautiful flower blooming in the royal garden before she was plucked and crushed.
But she wasn't always the red flower and her love interest wasn't always the dark cloud.
He was blue. Loyal. Smart. Kind (to her).
And she was pink, even in the current timeline.
So I think the past and the present Shin Seo-Ri are the same person since the grandmother mentioned an accident occurred and Shin Seo-Ri forgot who she was then, so maybe she had an accident at work again and woke up with full memories of her past life . . . but that's not what this post is about. It's about the colors, and how slowly, these two are getting back to their softer colors.
Instead of always being red and black, they are gradually moving to pink and blue one color step at a time.
And it's probably because they found each other again in the midst of an eclipse with a shining red comet included.
Or maybe it's because love (mixed with this bokeh effect) reveals everyone's true color.
really love dynamics that are like 'it honestly doesn't matter if you view them as romantic or platonic, the point is that they love each other. the type of love is inconsequential, all that matters is that it's there'. gotta be one of my favorite genders.
Gossip Girl #3 All I Want Is Everything Book Moments I've Gathered (Part 2)
+ Short Commentary.
Here's PART 1.
Oh, lord.
Please listen to your dad, Jenny.
For some context, Vanessa unknowingly filmed Nate and Jenny without their consent in the park, thinking they were some random people. Vanessa wanted to film the ‘true’ New Yorkers and saw two people rolling around in the snow with their pants down, and decided to film them. Then Vanessa’s sister loaned her camera to a bunch of guys, they found the video and decided to post it online. And now Dan is upset, and instead of comforting his sister, he slut shamed her and his girlfriend.
I bet Nate and his friends are the ones who hooked him with it.
“Stuffed panda that sat on her bed”. I think Nate realised how young she is. Also, he never ‘officially’ broke up with her. He’s such a shitty guy.
Some singer keeps following Serena around, and I think these were some of the lyrics. Are these lyrics even good? I remember Charli XCX posting lyrics online and a bunch of people shitting on it until the actual song came out. Someone said one of the most important elements in pop music is conviction. Even if this singer did sing with conviction, I’d still cringe.
Jenny’s dad grounded her because of the video. While Jenny is envisioning their future together, Nate has ended this relationship without telling her.
Where is this Humphrey madness coming from?
It’s good that Jenny is the type of person to listen and understand when issues and misunderstandings arise; however, there is no reason for Vanessa to be filming who she thought were literal strangers in the park.
If there are any poetry experts out there, is this even good?
He’s a dog.
Girl, I thought he was demoted to an extra last book.
The things she says. This is how Nate’s friends should have acted throughout his relationship with Jenny.
I love how Blair and Jenny date Nate and then discover how worthless he is.
Omg, a Chair moment!
Can men literally stay away from this child?
I'm currently reading Little Women and Circe, so looking at the screenshots, the writing is very jarring to me. I might start book 4 in a couple of weeks. When will I finish it? God Knows.
As I continue with the series, I feel like the moments just keep getting worse. So I don’t know what I’m getting myself into.
Gossip Girl #3 All I Want Is Everything Book Moments I've Gathered (Part 1)
+ Short Commentary.
I read this book in 2023 so I'm reliving the shenanigans. I'm mostly complaining about Nate and Jenny.
Previously on Gossip Girl: A DAMN senior is with a freshman.
And just for her body.
I think Blair fails to realise how many women (and maybe men) regularly fantasise and daydream about different scenarios which centre on themselves.
The same thing happened in the first book. Nate only pays attention to Blair when they’re separated.
I remember a quote from the TV show where Blair comments on Nate’s short-term memory. Found it. “But unfortunately, the entire clue trail hangs by the flimsiest of threads. Nate's long-term memory” (5x22).
Look, I’m happy Vanessa is comfortable with herself, but I don’t like how she dismisses Dan's hesitation to have sex.
I don’t like Dan, but please respect his decision. It’s his first time, let him wait. You guys haven’t dated for long anyway.
I hate him so much—literally a side character.
Is this interaction even necessary?
Serena is all glitter and giggles. She’s a ditz. But she’s not at fault in this situation. Your man is a freak and will continue to be one.
I don’t believe Nate’s friends should have stopped. I think some people need to shame their friends for their bad decisions. This is humiliating behaviour that his friends are witnessing.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! Is she easier to handle compared to Blair? Is that what comforts you? Easier to manipulate?
I was staring at this screenshot for 10 minutes, trying to remember the context. I had to borrow the e-book again from the library app. They’re shopping to gift each other. Instead of gifting a 14-year-old girl something appropriate, Nate takes her to the lingerie section.
Blair is currently writing an essay for the university admissions. Unfortunately, many people might ignore Audrey Hepburn’s charity work. When I was young, for the longest time, I thought Audrey died young until I saw her at a much older age. Blair's willingness to become Audrey is purely aesthetic, not because Audrey’s values inspire her.
I love how this book can be self-aware sometimes.
I love how the Humphrey siblings are freaking their lovers out with their art. Serena reacting to Dan’s poetry.
