As our resident Enjolras+Cosette siblings truther, can you tell us some of their childhood adventures?
We're going to skip to after they get adopted by JvJ because this is a no angst zone
They shared a bed (or, well, a mattress on the floor) in the Thénardier house and it takes them a few months to get out of the habit of being terrified when they wake up in the middle of the night and find themselves alone. They end up sharing a bed most nights until they adjust. JvJ just buys a double bed for both their rooms.
They were the cutest kids you’ve ever seen in your damn life. All curly hair and freckles and dimples. Come on, you know it’s true. It’s what Victor Hugo would have wanted.
Obviously, if Enj & Cosette are siblings, that means childhood Triumvirate feat Cosette!!! (Quadvirate???) The four of them has the parents terrorized, because they were all little shits who got in trouble constantly. Courfeyrac was also Cosette's first crush. He finds out in their twenties and teases her relentlessly...Until she punches him
They totally get lost at Disneyland one time. JvJ was losing his mind. And yes he did take them to Disneyland it’s what they deserve ok.
In a similar vein, one time JvJ walks into one of the twin’s bedrooms to find that they’ve cut each other’s hair with the craft scissors, and it’s uneven and choppy and horrible as you can imagine. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s literally the morning of picture day in school. So people always ask JvJ why he has a photo of two eight year olds with shaved heads on his mantelpiece.
When they turn 14, Enjolras starts pulling away from Cosette. They don't hang out after school, they don't watch tv together on a Saturday morning, Enjolras barely speaks when they’re having dinner together, and she doesn't know what she did wrong. After four months of this she confronts Enjolras, and Enjolras tearfully admits that he thinks he's her brother, not her sister, and didn’t know how to tell her. Which of course Cosette doesn’t have a problem with. She helps him pick out his name and cuts his hair short for the first time (”So, does this mean I can have all your clothes?” “Cosette!” “What?! It’s not like you’re gonna wear them!”
They're an expert at doing each other's hair. Enj can do this really complicated plait thing for Cosette and it looks great (he does her hair for her wedding ;_;)
Basically they are SUPER CLOSE and BEST FRIENDS and I LOVE THEM A LOT
