Simone de Beauvoir, from a diary entry featured in Diary of a Philosophy Student
You and me, against all odds.
Your trauma is valid if you still love and/or miss the person who hurt you.
Needing reassurance doesnāt make you a burden. It doesnāt erase your strength. It simply means part of you is still learning that you are safe and loved.
i feel like no one really talks about how this all is a permanent condition, the sadness never really goes away it just brews in the back of your head. no matter what youāll always be reminded that itās always lingering. sometimes i canāt accept itās always going to be like this. i swear iām fun and chill i just have this irrevocable ache inside of me. itās a part of me now and i donāt think i ever wanna let it go. oh i wish to be a normal girl. what is wrong with me?.
my biggest s3xual fantasy is to have someone notice my absence and wonder about me lol
Someone being patient with you on your bad days is one of the softest forms of love
For those of you who dont get to see fireflies. Yes they are real and yes they are gentle
absolutely fucking wild to me that there's a bug that glows. like it's a real thing that is just Outside.
if you live somewhere where they're a thing, maybe it's unremarkable, but the concept is mindblowing to me lol
The wonderful thing is that even if you live where they are a thing, they're still magical. They really are that wonderful. I promise we do appreciate them so so much!
You deserve people who love you with your disability, not despite it. You deserve people who believe you. You deserve people more than willing to learn about your condition(s) because they want to understand and know how to support you. Who don't hold their help over you or treat you like you're in constant debt to them. Who are never ashamed of or embarrassed of you for your conditions, symptoms, appearance, mobility aids, or level of ability. whose questions are always well intentioned and never used to interrogate or use against you later. Who don't compare you to others whether to imply that you're too sick and therefore not good enough or in an attempt to call you a liar.
You deserve people who will never abandon you because you're disabled. Never joke about you in a way that you have not expressed you are okay with. Who don't call you a burden or imply you to be one. Who don't complain that their time with you is boring because you can't do enough. Who never compare you to how you used to be or try to "fix" you. Who never take advantage of your dependence on them. You deserve good people in your life and you don't have to settle for less because it's the best you can get or deserve. You deserve better and there are people that give a shit, I promise
Iām the best version of myself.
