Hello gentiles I come bearing another announcment!

Do not wish Jews a "happy Yom Kippur." Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the year and the Day of Atonement. It's a day where we fast (if we choose to and are able), and ask for forgiveness from God and those around us for our wrongdoings of the past year. Saying "happy Yom Kippur" is inappropriate due to the nature of the holiday. If you know someone fasting, wishing them an easy fast is appropriate and traditional.

An appropriate thing to say if you don't know if someone is fasting or not (and it's not of your business whether they are or aren't) is "Have a meaningful Yom Kippur".

Yom Kippur starts on Sunday night, and ends Monday night. (September 24-25th, 2023) Many Jewish holidays are happy. This is not one of them. Yom Kippur is a solemn holiday. Your Jewish friends may be in synagogue essentially the entire day (especially if they're more observant, or part of the Conservative or Orthodox denominations). There's a lot of self-reflection and the entire day has a very serious tone.

Unironically LOVE that the script for RWRB was clearly written for a short!Alex, but then they hired TZP and just... didn't acknowledge it or change anything. So we have an obviously-shorter-than-Alex Henry needling Alex about his height and Alex furiously telling everyone that Henry MUST BE lying about being tall and yelling "We're the same height!" while looking down at him which is just so fucking funny. Honestly, way more iconic than hiring a shorter actor and playing those lines straight. I want every insecure short character to be played by a giant from now on.

Do people realize how amazing 2023 has been for entertainment? How much talent and passion there was so far?

We had: Barbie, Nimona, Oppenheimer, Super Mario, Elemental, Red, White and Royal Blue, Insidious: The Red Door, Across the Spider-verse, Scream VI, My Adventures with Superman, Heartstopper S2, The Little Mermaid, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Guardians of the Galaxy V3, Skinamarink, Miraculous: Awakening, John Wick: Chapter 4

And we still have Wish, The Creator, Ahsoka, Saw X, Wonka, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Rebel Moon, Loki S2, Five Nights at Freddy's, The Marvels, Dune Part 2, The Continental, A Haunting in Venice, Percy Jackson and the Olympians

2023 has been one of the best years in terms of quality entertainment recently. I don't ever remember being so hyped and amazed and surprised by so many things in a single year.

There are so many amazing things this year, have amazing people as their cast and crew. And those are the people Hollywood wants to fire and replace and not pay. I can't imagine being that fucking stupid.

oh but how absolutely monumental it still is to have all these big and mainstream pieces of queer television right now. remember how excited you got when there was one character who said he was bi or gay only then to be killed or written off or treated horribly by both writers and the public. remember how hard it was to find queer shows and movie that didn’t make you hate yourself or so angry or scared. remember how seen you felt about that one queer kiss or that one coming out or within one particular character! yes, devastating sad queer pieces are important. fucked up queer stories need to be told. queer period pieces and dramas with unhappy endings too. but queer happiness, queer young and old love, queer cringe, queer joy- we deserve that too.

People keep saying, "Oh, everyone thinks they're neurodivergent now!" or they'll say it's the foods or chemicals or whatever other nonsense they've fallen for, but to me the answer is so obvious?

We've gotten to a point that more and more people are being left behind by the system, making it so that neurodivergent parents who could get by fine *enough* in decades/centuries past are bringing children into a world that cannot and will not attempt to accommodate them. There's nothing in the water and people aren't faking, it's just that this is no longer sustainable or livable and of course people with disabilities will be hit first and hit the hardest. There aren't more people with it, it's just harder to go through life without being aware that you're not functioning the way your peers seem to be able to.
