watching the winter olympics like ART watching media through murderbot as a filter because without the commentators i have no idea what's going on or how i should be reacting
i'm rereading the murderbot diaries and murderbot's utter conviction that it and gurathin are bitter enemies is still so funny. buddy. gurathin got over this months ago. he's just a quiet guy.
one-sided antagonism is so delicious. murderbot diaries i also very much enjoy how surreal it must be for gurathin / to know that the heavily armed rogue secunit holds a grudge against him / and also know that all it will ever choose to do about this is make frowny faces and flip him the bird. / (tags via space-mouse)
Gurathin, like three books from now: hey we’re friends right
Murderbot: no. we fucking hate each other.
Gurathin: awesome check this out it’s gonna make you so fucking mad
MB: I don’t like you
Gurathin, knowing MB calls its best friend “asshole research transport”: Uh-huh.
Murderbot: I don't like Gurathin, and he doesn't like me
Gurathin, not even looking up from the article he's reading: careful buddy, if you piss me off I might look at you really hard
Murderbot: I have guns in my arms!
Gurathin: yeah, but if you shoot me who are you gonna call when you need help solving a murder or getting out of an awkward social gathering?

"It's normal to feel conflict. You were part of something for a long time. You hate it, and it was a terrible thing. But it created you, and you were part of it."

what hat did you give the goat what is the instinctual hat you gave to this goat
sometimes I have to stop myself from posting shit like "who made replacing a bike chain so erotic" because I remember the number of people who see my posts and I have to take a step back and reconsider my choices. sometimes I have to hide my true and sincere thoughts in a post about how I'm not posting them because it is funnier this way
artist's impression
whatever. it's just reaching between all its delicate parts to wrench out its guts with lots of sweating and straining. while it's upside down and immobilised. and then it's just taking the slick and shiny new chain and feeding it gently through gears and between metal before pulling it taut until the derailleur is extended and the chain clicks into place and can no longer be removed. I; think I'm bicycle. I mean bisexual
forgot what website I'm on apparently. peace and love on pervert planet
I keep thinking about this moment because it was really sweet and unprompted. Catherine was so excited to be there and wanted so badly to do a good job (she did a GREAT job with maybe the hardest episode yet) and to get a little praise from someone with as much Dropout success as Ify? You can't buy an ego boost like that!
She also really IS good at Game Changer because there's no damn way I would've ever figured out the trick, let alone as fast as she did. Also the fact she instinctively just gave away everything she learned to help other constestants. I hope they bring her back for a less chaotic episode soon.
off topic to the absolutely amazing and brilliant new game changer ep, but i just have to say how much i loved hearing jiavani and demi be referred to as she/him and he/they, respectively, so naturally by sam and the cast. i don't think we'll see mainstream media refer to, let alone cast, genderqueer and gnc people with such normalacy.
obviously they have been referred to correctly on other shows but the constant uses of pronouns in the "count the rice" song just made it really prominent. idk im just so happy
I feel like simply calling JK Rowling a transphobe isn't strong enough anymore. Like. This is not your grandpa calling you by your deadname at a restaurant kind of transphobic. This is her wanting to eradicate all trans people (with an extra special hatred towards trans women specifically). This is her trying just that by personally funding transphobic hate groups with millions to push around laws in the UK. It is not hyperbolic to call her a dangerous, genocidal maniac.
It's not about cancelling a problematic writer. It's about literally trying to save lives by denying her as much money and power as possible.
I tried drawing random animals from memory in 2 minutes (based on a spilled ink video) but at the elephant I realised I'm really not good at it :'D So I ended up redrawing them with references just to see the difference, and ended up spending way too much time on it.
Part 2!
Went back and finished the video. There were more animals I never saw before (and one where I accidentally drawn a different one :"D ) but it's all done!
I love episodes of Game Changer where the only way to win is by learning & the only way to learn is by playing. With some episodes, like Don't Wake Standards & Practices, the overall flow of the game becomes pretty apparent pretty quickly, & also there's some surprises along the way. But then there's episodes like Count the Rice, Deja Vu, or Bingo, where the basic conceit of what the game even is is an ongoing mystery. I love that stuff.
love the end of the two towers where gandalf looks into the sunset talking bout "yea frodo had to go it alone it was his destiny and there is no changing it he will be ok 😌✨" and aragorn is like "sam went with him btw" and gandalf is like "oh fuck thank god"
@sarumans
been stewing on an analytical approach to fiction which I call "is this book afraid of me?" and in order to answer this question you determine how hard the book is trying to make sure you don't come after the writer on twitter

sleeping beauty retelling where the prince thought she was legit perma-dead and has an emotional breakdown when his kiss actually revives her. then he locks himself at the top of a tower pretending not to cry, and she sends him 234234 text messages insulting him and telling him to stfu & come play xbox.
