So a friend and I were talking about how the runes in the new GOW logo spell out Ragnarok.
Then we started talking about the 2018 GOW logo and what each of those runes are.
We figured out most of them except for the top right rune. It’s been driving us crazy. We’ve gone back and forth on it but can’t settle on what this rune is.
So here me out. After way to much overthinking here’s my crackpot theory:
After staring at the Elder Futhark Runes one of the runes looked similar:
But the laguz rune only has one notch while the rune on the GOW logo has two. The rune is indecipherable because it’s not one rune, its TWO runes. In fact the same two runes flipped and reversed and overlapping each other. So if that’s true what could it mean, I hear you say. Well you know who has this rune at the beginning of their name?
That’s right it’s Loki. The other symbols on the logo represent gods (and man) so why shouldn’t this one? So if this rune represents loki why are there two? Because there are two in the game. There’s a scene in the game where Kratos is taking Atreus to see Freya because he is sick and in the distance you hear someone as of yet unknown blow the horn to summon Jormungandr. We already know that time travel is possible in this world in mimir’s stories, Atreus’s notes and the shrines. The person that blew that horn is Loki from the future who has time traveled to the past and the devs have told us this without ever saying it.
And that’s why the rune looks so weird.
In all seriousness though if anyone knows what this rune should be let me know because it’s driving us crazy.
