Update regarding this Blog's future...
A while back when I revitalized this blog I made it clear from the getgo that this would be a Baxter Stockman only blog. Focusing only on topics regarding this singular character from over the decades, from stories, iterations, theories, ect. The most leeway I'd give for mentioning a different character would either be someone adjacent to Stockman/play a role in his stories (Z, Bishop, Zara) or occasionally if I felt in the mood I'd allow an ask about someone else. Because of those few times I hinted at & said I'd probably be open to expanding the blog & discussing TMNT again like I used to in my previous TMNT blog days as a whole & not just on Baxter but I'd have to wait and see & more importantly be sure with myself if I'm ready to step out of my comfort zone.
Well after almost 2 years of rebuilding this account & interacting with the fandom albeit a safe distance, I've made up my decision & that decision is that this blog unfortunately will NOT be expanding to other characters & topics.. The reason for this decision is because once again I find myself STILL be harassed & harmed by the TMNT fans, especially its 2012 audience as the show still has a personal hold on them for which at most I understand. I've slowly made it clear I have a mixed relationship with that iteration & even slowly realizing I just may not like it anymore despite it being the reason I'm a Stockman fan to begin with & that's upset some people. My criticisms or my overall dislike for a character, ship or episode has led to small debates or even heated ones the most prominent being "it's the writers faults not the characters" & I do agree on that. I've even expressed on more than one occasion myself that I'm STILL not happy with how they wrote or handled Baxter throughout its 5 season run or most of its other characters I actually DO like. Granted the problem with that defense is that apparently the same argument can't be made for characters in 2012 they actually DO hate, at that point it's not the writers faults they're just a shit character & you should hate them too. Hypocrisy at best & the exact same toxic behavior I dealt with back in my highschool/old blog days. The exact same VENOM & resentment that was hurled at me that was the very core reason WHY I deleted my original blog 5 years ago! This fandom can either love something or hate it. And they make it SO personal that it becomes your problem too especially if you don't have the same feeling about it & honestly 2012 fans in particular still continue to be the ones that do it most 2nd being 87. I made this blog because despite my feelings on the franchise I still love & adore Baxter Stockman. I still look forward to whatever his next story or life will be & most importantly. Because he's an unpopular character I NEVER have to worry about a TMNT fan attacking me because of my opinions on him because they themselves don't really care about him & I'm honest to God forever thankful for that because not only does it make Baxter more personal to me like he's my own character but it also means I FINALLY have something this fandom has NEVER had the decency to give me in the 13 years I've been part of it... A freedom of speech & opinion. I can say whatever the hell I want about Baxter Stockman & face no repercussions but if I were to do the same thing to Raphael, or April, or Karai. I'm spending the next 3 hours of my life debating if I should just never speak again. I wish I could say that it's only strangers doing this but I'm afraid not. Even my own personal friends are guilty of picking up the fandom's concerning behavior. So as a result the ONLY time I'm willing to have a non-baxter discussion regarding the franchise is in my "Baxter Stockman fanclub Discord server" one of my good friends Dove made. Because we're able to have non-heated talks about the franchise & respect one another. Because we're mostly biased I'll admit, but I'll take biasism at this point if it means a safe peace of mind & finally. Because we've ALL been hurt by this fandom & know what that feels like so we NEVER take it out on each other or mimic those behaviors. So to all my friends in that discord, this has nothing to do with you dw đŤ as for my friends not there.. I'm sorry but I choose my feelings first. So I'm no longer going to be discussing TMNT with you guys either. Even our OCs are going to have to part ways & exist separately.
So with that said this blog is only going to be Stockman & Stockman adjacent only from now on. Any ask or comment trying to go off topic will be ignored & deleted. I really didn't want it to come to this conclusion but it seems like this fandom will never change & the people who were in it long enough have slowly become the very things they protected me from & I couldn't be more heartbroken.
