Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for January (yes, I'm drastically behind, but feverishly catching up!)

Featuring Jude and Cardan from The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black! Another scene requested where I took a slight detour to showcase what we didn't see on page (when Jude was unconscious) but was hinted at in the aftermath (Cardan's bloody jacket). Does anyone else's cat shed fur when they're startled or agitated? Mine leaves behind clumps, which for a Devon Rex is dire. I channeled that energy with Cardan's agitated whipping tail and shedding leaves.

Pomegranate have been my go-to fruit to add to my morning oats for over a year now, so it was a fun time to sprinkle them all over this.

I love cardan in aways i cant explain.

I love the way he acts. The way he laughs when hes nervous. The way his tail exposes how he feels. The way his hair dark hair curls slightly. The way his closet is full of extravagant clothes. The way he drinks to conceal his problems because he wasnt taught how to properly.

I love how he treats me right. How while almost dying still devoting himself and loving me.

I love how me loving cardan makes me happy.

I love cardan in so many ways I cant discribe.

Cardan not going after Jude during her exile always makes me cry because the only reason he wasn’t is because he wanted to respect her wants and autonomy so bad. He didn’t want to make her come back if she didn’t want to, didn’t look for her because he genuinely believed Jude would come back if she wanted to be found. And again it’s just so in-character of him to automatically think she’s just found something better than him because no one ever willingly picked and stayed with him when they had a choice so why would she?

I wanted to practice with some textures, coloring, and rendering, so what is a fun way to practice all of that? Uhmmmm Cardan x Jude of course! I also have been neglecting them and needed to feed the fandom, so here it is! Although this particular dress wouldn’t be Jude’s first choice… they had to be matchers and the reference I used fit the vibe so well 🤷‍♀️
