Realized a while ago that there is a criminally small amount of Rinzler/Yori stuff, and I am gnawing at the bit over them
i've been phasing the phrase 'google it' out of my vocabulary and going back to 'look it up'. fuck you youve lost your generic trademark privileges
Happy pride month my peeps!! (Why the fuck are we half way thru the year already?)
Lovely to see we have spaces where you can gain access to so much literature!
Don't sleep on @queerliblib the Queer Liberation Library for all your queer Libby needs!
STOP slandering the Tron films!!
Tron 1982 is a sci-fi action classic that gets better with time!
Tron: Legacy is a damn great sequel that modernizes the original in an exciting way!
Tron: Ares is a really good Nine Inch Nails music video.
when i was a teenager i used to catch myself thinking "i'm really glad i'm alive right now because of all the cool personal technologies that exist" and when i did i'd think it through and reckon that well, its not like teenagers in the 70s and 80s knew they didnt have ipods or facebook or whatever. they were also happy with the tech they had. and i'd reason that in the future there would be more fun technologies that i dont know i'm missing out on right now and the future will be an even cooler time to exist
anyway i was dead fucking wrong about that last part. i hate personal technologies now. i miss having an ipod that doesnt advertise shit to me and i miss when my htc wildfire didnt harass me 45 times a day to install an ai assistant and then install it anyway when i say no and i miss when the internet wasnt 5 websites all of which i have to log into and i miss when i didnt need an app to talk to my landlord. sorry past me you were actually right about 2009
i have a suggestion
me too

I love mathematicians so much. No one else is doing it like them. Group of people genuinely only in it for love of the game. Everyone else hates their subject and thinks its boring and useless and these guys are out here talking about how beautiful and incredible and poetic it is with a twinkle in their eyes. No other subject has such a crazy disconnect between public perception and reality. I love it.
I've been doing a crash-review of Calculus and Intro to Proofs courses in preparation for my upcoming Advanced Calculus (what other universities may refer to as their undergrad Real Analysis course), and my mom trying to make sense of one of my problems had me laughing so hard. Will never forget her "3 logs in a butthole with Nancy plus one multiplied by NANCY!" This was a problem on a series ToT
āscientists donāt want you knowā is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know
āi should take a walk for my mental healthā boring, tired, i donāt even really wanna do it tbh

I feel the need to address something bothering me in the ts fandom right now
1) this is an indie studio with a small handful of people working on a passion project, it's openly disrespectful to the developers to go onto a public platform and say "download this for free instead of buying it!"
2) if you can comfortably afford to buy an indie studio's project that you are interested in, you have no excuse to not spend an iced coffees worth of dollars to do so.
This is at best extremely irresponsible, and all for something we technically weren't owed to begin with.
One thing I love about studying math is that when you ask any fellow student or prof why they went into math we all say itās because we find it beautiful. Itās so diametrically opposed to the opinion that everyone else has about math that it feels like some kind of virus that infects you and makes you unable to study anything else
