PEACE CANNOT BE KEPT

Established in the mid 1600’s, Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft & Wizardry has withstood the test of time to become one of the most prestigious magical academies in the world. Now, a new school year is dawning. And although it would be ideal to claim that “All was well…” peace always does seem to give way to darkness.

Thought to have been destroyed by the death of its founding members, a radical group of anti-magic fanatics known as the Second Salemers are back with a vengeance, coaxing Aurors right & left to be sent to protect the school. No longer are No-Maj-borns at risk while Purebloods sleep safely at night. No longer is there a divide between wizards.

Now, the same enemy is shared by all: mere magic-less humans, whose greatest power is the belief & hatred in all that is magical. All at once, everyone has the same objective: to fight once more for p e a c e.

i was going to send the elf with my letter, not send it with the letter. trying to find an owl large enough to carry the creature would be too hard. i don’t think i would receive the elf back in the same condition.

bella might have been tempted to do something like that just for fun...

i never understood why you dislike them. they’re so helpful.

well then keep it just in case you have a slow week at work or you are having problems making ends meet at the end of the month. i’m not taking it back, so you might as well keep it.

pimsey has never complained and how would i run this manor without them? in case you’ve forgotten my skill with cleaning spells... they are treated just fine. maybe i’ll send one with my next letter to help you out at work. you wouldn’t have to pay them and i’m sure they would be happy to do something other than dusting or cooking. i’m just kidding. i know you would hate that, but really you should consider the free help.

i know you’re not asking for it, but here is some more money for you. it makes me feel better to send it, so please just take it. lucius doesn’t notice it’s missing or at least he never questions me about it.

you asked me about life at the manor and it’s honestly as we expected it would be. i’m left to manage the house and the house elves while he works during the day. breakfast, sometimes with my husband or sometimes by myself. i check in with the house elves to make sure yesterday’s orders were carried out and then give them their work for today. i write letters, like i’m doing now. i might tend to my gardens a bit. then it’ll be time to dress for lunch. i usually have that with some of the women. afternoons are usually a drag unless i have a party that night to supervise the set up of. i always have tea of course, usually on the veranda and usually with more women. it’s a lot of free time really. mum may have banned me from working in potions, but that doesn’t mean i can’t do it in my free time here.

i’m not treated horridly, it’s just kind of... lonely i suppose.

it’s genuinely in the interests of advancing plot (e.g. ‘Pass the screwdriver?’ and you can assume my muse passes the screwdriver over, or even just that your muse ended up with the screwdriver one way or another, without having to stop the reply altogether for my interjection)

it’s NOT my muse’s dialogue, inner or outer

it’s REASONABLE for my muse (e.g. if they’ve already made it quite clear the screwdriver is a sentimentally precious family heirloom or something, then the screwdriver might not reasonably change hands)

the reply isn’t solely about my muse’s actions, thoughts or feelings, but rather is about your muse, with reference to mine

you are willing to accept criticism & critique and change the reply if I can’t reasonably see my muse doing that

roleplaying, for me, is about exploring characters and worlds through story. Interaction with both the muse and the world, then, is vital, and I do not mind sacrificing a small thing from one to significantly advance the other. It’s always a good idea to talk to me if you’re uncertain and it will be easier once we know each other better, but I just wanted to put this out there so you lot know what I’m comfortable with. There’s a lot of ‘no godmodding whatsoever!!’ going around in this community and obviously, with big things, it’s a no-go – but I’m still more interested in the story.

this question wasn’t easy either. not because she had to think of an answer, but to have to say it out loud. it wasn’t something that narcissa wanted to think about because it only made her feel upset.

it was easier to pretend that she did everything out of her own free will. that she had chosen to agree to marry lucius. that she had chose no to pursue potions as a career. she wasn’t andromeda. she was pretty sure that she would never have been able to make the decision to cast aside her family, not matter how she felt about their choices.
