ah, fuck it.
I’ve never given this scene much thought beyond the fact that it was one of Maddie’s personal ‘inflection point’. I get that she felt incredibly small standing beside such unimaginably ancient object. I experienced something similar when I was in Angkor Wat. I felt impermanent and small, I wanted to touch every stone there. It was cathartic.
It’s not like nothing is matter all of a sudden and you can do whatever without giving a single thought about the consequences. It’s about realisation that the consequences of your mistakes would never be that everlasting, it’s all fleeting. And this moment must’ve made it less terrifying for Maddie to make the life changing decision to keep Dave. Because there is no right or wrong option. Whatever choice she made, she will still question it. Whether she would ponder if he would be better with adopted parents during the hardest times of her motherhood. Because every parent sometimes questions whether they’re good enough. Or whether she would think about him and miss him if she goes along with adoption. There’s always going to be “What if…”
But it had never come to my mind before Craig Silverstein addressed it in his interview, that this piece of cosmic body not only makes Maddie, we follow for the majority of the show, seem small. It makes Dyson God Maddie seem small too. A woman torn apart by indescribable amount of grief, who came unimaginable length to see her loved ones again. But after all she’s still Maddie Kim. And on top of that, it even makes Safe Surf, with all its power and knowledge, also seem small and impermanent. What is 43 million years compared to thousands of millions?

I think an important aspect of Artemy Burakh's character is that he is literally a video game protagonist but also the son of a man who also essentially lived his entire life as the protagonist of a video game and it literally drove him crazy.
everyone has a ship thats just: theyre perfect. they hate each other. theyre married. they havent spoken in 15 years. they have date nights three times a week. theyre divorced. theyre pining, its unrequited. its requited. theyre starcrossed. theyre meant to be. theyre doomed by the narrative. they love each other. theyve never held hands. they wont stop making out at parties. they cant look each other in the eye
“Because the truth is, tech doesn’t have an image problem. It doesn’t have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What’s wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn’t successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What’s wrong is that he’s trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that’s designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn’t that you haven’t told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.”

Everyone should be aware of nitter.net
for any address to twitter you can replace the “x.com” with “nitter.net” and you will be able to browse as if you have an account. Lifesaver.
Similarly, imginn.com works for most Instagram addresses. I still haven’t found one for Facebook.
This young coyote was playing around in the dirt, digging and jumping around until he finally found the prize- a tissue or something 😂. It was almost dark, so a little challenging getting the shots. Los Angeles County, June 2026.
