olruggio's magic has a habit of being behind some very dark events.

his glowstones are used to help trick a very small child into taking a dangerous book that goes on to change her life forever.

a snugstone used to melt the romonon people.

ironic when we see he puts a lot of thought towards the downsides of his contraptions.

even when his magic being used to help, others can only discuss the dangers it poses now and the horror it used to cause.

Yet another thought! Manga spoilers

Post-tree and Olruggio notices that Qifrey is still awkward with hugging him, and though Olruggio doesn't complain or push for more, he notices Qifrey has no problem with hugs from his apprentices. And he realizes this was the same before. And he asks him about it, casually and maybe a little shyly because he doesn't want to push him

And Qifrey absolutely disarms him with a "Well, the silverwood would not awake with them, because they're not my safe haven. You are." without even realizing how disarming it is. He just says it matter-of-factly while Olruggio feels his heart fly out of his chest and has to scramble for a mere nod as a response to this cartoon-anvil-drop of a confession.
