Quick analysis of tadc finale comparing it to ihnmaims— spoilers below!!!

In I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Ted sacrifices himself by killing everyone else and dooming himself to a fate of eternal solitude under AM’s torture. It’s a tragedy, with a touch of hope in the fact that at least as few people were spared from this fate as possible. But even with Ted having done everything to end the story as well as was possible, it’s bleak.

In the Amazing Digital Circus, Jax abstracts, effectively killing herself, after a life of repression and shame and lashing out. Despite the show being generally focused on love and hope, this feels like a tragic turn as everyone is too late to save Jax. But even in what feels like the saddest possible outcome, Pomni is there with Jax as she disappears, and she’s hugging her.

In IHNMAIMS, the best possible ending is Ted being alone. In TADC, even in Jax’s worst possible ending, she is not alone.

These two took me by a storm. I relate to Jax in so many ways as a character, and (no spoilers) but tldr; it hurts knowing how things turn out. The idea of two people trying to connect but ultimately falling through because of circumstances, self inflicted or otherwise.

Thank you Gooseworx for making something I found comfort in weird ways when needing an outlet. It's been real
