I am so very curious to the character Azriel and the limerence that the entire fandom seems to have developed toward him. The bonus chapter is just proof that we really don’t know him all that well.

I think the most frustrating thing is watching the actual point being made by the Hunger Games go over so many heads.

I hate to be that overly “woke” friend but I despise the trend on tiktok to “make your own arena”. What on gods green earth would possess you to create a fictional hunger games arena. I understand that it’s not real but it’s the principle. The fact that fans let the “love triangle” overshadow the revolution plot line in the same way the capital chooses to glamorize the the victor’s love post games. The way that the general Hunger Games fandom engages with the material is just too similar to the way the Capital interacts with Katniss and the other victors. AND IT GOES STRAIGHT OVER THEIR HEADS.

There are some things that are fun and truly mean no harm. Such as cute fanart/edits. Or even the Hunger Games but better Parody. I am not saying we all have to be 100% serious 100% of the time. I just hate to see people call themselves such big Hunger Games fans and not every attempt to understand the nuance of the story. Or even acknowledge that at its heart it is a political commentary.
