practicing self care less out of self love and more for the sheer logical reasoning of it’d be kinda stupid of me to expect myself to be able to function without proper maintenance
“oh i don’t deserve rest and relaxation, i haven’t done enough, i haven’t earned it” and my car’s breaks don’t deserve break fluid because they aren’t breaking well enough to earn it. that’s what you sound like!!!!!
A very soft and chubby cat with an important reminder for self love! ♡
Pre-order my book Loading Penguin Hugs!
your muscles being pleasantly sore after exercise is such a nice incentive I can see why they patched that in. the forced regular logins to avoid losing progress however are a predatory practice and deserve nothing but scorn.
the exercise lady whose videos I follow says things like "Exercise is a celebration of what you can do, not punishment for what you ate" and "Think of some small thing you've wanted to change, and try making that change just for today so you don't stress yourself out over a major change" and "The brain craves blood"
i love the excellent things this lady has said
Jussst Another Day
It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!
this is actually really helpful and affirming thanks

Things I’m Realizing and Putting Into Practice
You don’t have to have abs or even a flat tummy to wear a crop top
You don’t have to have a perfect booty to wear leggings
You don’t have to have expensive workout clothes or gear to exercise
You don’t need a gym membership to be healthy. Even taking a walk is exercise!
You don’t have to have perfectly tanned and shaved legs to wear shorts
You don’t have to spend all day in the gym. If you can only set aside 15 minutes, that’s ok, too.
Slip-ups happen. Missing a workout or eating poorly here and there shouldn’t derail your whole program :)
Change It
Quick tip:
Always start your workout with squats. Because no matter how bad the rest of your workout gets it can't be worse than squats.
hey did you know??? that if you stop stretching and maintaining mobility in your body then it goes away?? things get tight and you can't move the way that you used to??? and when you decide to try getting a stretch routine going that the first week fucking sucks because you keep going 'damn i used to be able to do this no problem' and then you have to switch gears and be kind to yourself and just focus on getting better from here instead of berating yourself for dropping the good habits in the first place??? and your body never stops aging so you gotta keep taking care of it and sometimes you gotta take care of it extra in certain areas because of things that happened when you were younger and it's boring and sometimes hurts but it's so necessary???
i am yelling this at myself right now i am going through An Experience (trying to get into a routine of body maintenance again for my physical and mental health)
oh, Sisyphus! i got you
