Scourge’s main bully is an evil version of Big the Cat, named “Smalls”, and that’s probably my favourite thing about this arc so far.

Yep, “Smalls” is indeed the best thing to come out of this arc, if only for the naming gag alone.

Though this is kinda what I mean about the Zone Jail concept being kinda… less than what you’d expect. I mean really, how the heck could THIS guy wind up on the Zone Cop’s radar?

Contemplating alien sexuality and sex politics

I think it’s really easy to let cultural (or human) biases and shape how fictional societies. I definitely notice polygamous/polyamorous cultures in fiction tend to either shown as hostile and“backwards” or sexually liberated and enlightened (and monogamy taken for granted as the norm unless the author specialty wants to criticize it)

Neither snamels or holophants are more or less “enlightened” on the topic (and both have wide cultural differences in within their species) Snamels evolved from herding animals that use sex as “trade”, holophants evolved with the romantic sensibilities of an albatross, what is conservative and what is rebellious to each species is radically different.

To the average snamel sex work is as banal as being a salesman , to holophants it is an obscene indulgence of the oppulent (and done as pairs paying for *other* pairs). Snamels have almost no taboo on age beyond adulthood, holophants meanwhile are expected to find their partner within a tight age range. To holophants romance is the ultimate social bond, to snamels it’s a rung below the familial and platonic. Most Snamels see celibacy as incompetence or petty rebellion, most holophants see it as a disturbing and “inhuman”(inholophant?).

Both holophants and snamels tend to find eachother’s sexual habits mutually unpleasant. They likewise both find human sexuality and our fixation on our sexual dimorphism and gender performance to be hostile and alien (other alien species however share some similarities to us in that department)

Invincible (Remastered...again)

I got a new printer for Christmas last year, giving me the ability to print my own Poster sized images. While converting some of my old art to be the correct aspect ratio for the paper, I also took the liberty of updating the shading on a few pieces to better match my current standard of quality. This is is one of the those "HD Remasters".

This is actually the 2nd time I've remastered this piece. The Original (2014) Version of this piece was Part 2 of an art series centered around Chiin Ferno and Cody Flameclaw.

The 2nd Version (2015) of this piece was an update I made for my CMPA class in college. It only features some minor color tweaks, as we were learning about how to use Adjustment Layers in Photoshop.

Following the death of Cody Farplane in Chiin's universe, an alternate version of Cody appeared through a dimensional portal with the goal of stopping the Sinitaur from his world from destroying Chiin's world and every other world he could find. Chiin and Cody would team up on an adventure to stop him, becoming close friends in the process.
