Okay, I'll say it, the fact that Anna only wants to fuck Dean after she remembers she's an angel reads like it's more about who Dean is in God's plan than anything else. Like another type of rebellion against heaven. She can touch the Michael Sword even though it's not her place. The way she puts her hand over Cas's mark. Even the way she kisses Dean in front of Cas and Uriel, it's her way of exercising her free will, and throwing it in their faces. Even if they don't know exactly who Dean is they know he's important to Heaven and it's already been shown that Uriel has been ordered to stand down from attacking him. Anna is saying, look, I can do what I want to the things Heaven has laid claim to, because they don't control me.

Season 5 Cas is like, Dean and I have an obligation to each other because we both oppose the apocalypse and deny the roles given to us by heaven, it's a soldier's bond, we have a shared mission, and then he's so baffled and charmed when he shows up and Dean is like "Cas! Remember last time I made a reference and you said you didn't understand so I found a copy of the book/movie/tv show, let me show you all the reasons why humanity is worth saving, let me show you joy and comfort and friendship and laughter, let me show you why this is so much more than a mission, let me show you why this is not only the right thing but a good thing" and then Cas learns to love humanity through Dean

been reblogging a lot about maia's initial impression of beshelar but it's just. assuming the guard also only takes volunteers for nohecharei. Was watching a bit from the pilot and something about the way Dean says "dad's on a hunting trip" like obviously he knows Sam will know what it means so it isn't Dean being clever but there's a weight there. It's Dean being aware that when Sam said he could say anything infront of Jess he was lying and it nearly subtly calls Sam on this
