its still insane to me. I'm gonna publically call this woman a transphobic bio-essentialist for no reason and then pat myself on the back for listening when someone politely tells me I'm wrong but also not change my stance or apologize in anyway. Fucking lunatic. What's wrong with you.
like someone actually asked me what art i was talking about and I linked it here:

Super easy to just. "hey maybe i should give this trans woman a tiny bit of grace and assume she's talking about something correct and not make some wild assumption to call her a nazi"
"uuhhhhh what if its about a trans MAN you fucking BIGOT" and then the work is tagged
two days ago this account was still up, everybody on this fucking website needs to kill themselves now
No bro I swear they're a bad person, look at this document I've personally compiled about their every waking movement for the last 5 years, they said a few means things that can be really really bad if you squint. 3 years ago. In the middle of a psychotic episode. I'm in the right here btw.
what's insane is that in every other context one of the major lessons of studying politics as it relates to the personal is that it matters very little what you know or who else you've been before, your politics mostly have to do with where you stand now. which everyone seems to get until a trans woman is mentioned at which point we all gotta drop everything & do "socialization" handwringing
sorry, but you were socialized christian. I just can't trust you in a trans space
they literally taught you that trans people were subhuman and that you were better than them. I don't know if you can be trusted around other trans people
they scapegoated and abused you for showing signs of transness? uh... no? christianity is the most privileged religion there is. stop whining
gotta say I was not expecting people to go to bat for my strawman
me: "lol wouldn't it be crazy if trans communities treated ex-christian trans people who survived religious abuse the same way they treat trans women who they call 'male socialized'"
some of you, for some reason: "wait hold on that's a great idea"
very interesting rorschach test this post has become. some of you identify with the excluders, and then meanwhile every Muslim or ex-Muslim responder has identified with the excluded
let's all have a trans women + Muslim movie night. the theme will be "Forever Tainted by our Upbringings, Apparently"

5 minutes of research on what American troops did in Vietnam will make you understand why people called them baby killers
hey remember how one of my theories about the harassment against patricia was that regurgitating the false claims & misrepresentations allows you to justify having mistreated her in the past? & it lets you characterize her as someone it's ok to mistreat?
like. person A says "you underpaid me", "you treated me badly", etc. person B replies "ok well youre a Groomer so who cares." like it's not subtle, the transmisogynist allegation is itself a response, a defence, & a cudgel. it lets you retreat & reframe the discussion into some juvenile Morality Scaling bullshit. "ohh youre saying ive wronged you? umm well have you considered that youre a worse person than me so it doesnt count?" the transmisogyny at play lets you get away with mistreating her, it lets you escape consequence or accountability for mistreating her. you get to leverage the vitriol people have already heaped onto her to get observers onto your side. willful & eager invocation of privilege allows you to rewrite the conversation from "litigating your behaviour" to "litigating her character"
the fact that "eco" and "ethical" are two separate concerns in the global north, and that "eco" is a much more popular concern, with many "eco" products being made in actual sweatshops, is a big part of why i am The Joker
if you think this is an exaggeration or splitting hairs where it doesn't matter:
i used to work at a Local Organic Produce store that's popular with the lefties in my city who are interested in food justice. i quit for a lot of reasons, mostly the boss, but something i will always remember is one of our suppliers coming in to drop off produce, being told her check wasn't ready, and her laughing and responding it didn't matter -- even a low bank account was more than enough to pay the migrants who picked her produce. i am not filling in any blanks here. she said this.
after quitting, this was a common story i told people about my time there. some then became annoyed at me, acting like i was a wokescold trying to undermine the store's "eco" mission with unrelated "ethical" concerns. but, like -- if food justice isn't for the people making food, who the fuck is it for?
like, don't get me wrong. my contention here is that the things go hand in hand, and that something which is unethical isn't actually eco. after all, humans are a part of the fucking ecosystem, and if a product can only be made by unsustainably exploiting humans, then it's unsustainable. doesn't matter which chemicals were used in making it, or whether or not animals were factory farmed.
they *cannot* be separated. a product cannot be either eco or ethical — it must be both. a product that is made through human suffering cannot be eco for the reasons you said; a product that causes human suffering by contributing to the destruction of the ecosystem cannot be ethical. it must be both and we must insist on both
given all the rising transphobia and shit, we should remember that white trannies are still relatively safe and will be able to endure more escalation more easily, we're not at the top of any shit list even if we near if, trans women of color however are very vulnerable, and we need to remember they're our sisters, not our shields
First time I opened the notes on this the latest reblog was "stooooo this is causing infigthing!"
Second time was "also men!"
Fucking stop.
Stop being so fucking fragile and just support black transfems. Can you do that? For even 5 fucking minutes?

Here's a pretty good organization that does this type of work!
The Black Trans Travel Fund is a Black trans-led collective rooted in self-advocacy and mutual aid for Black trans women globally, our mission is to provide travel support, connect communities internationally, and establish paths towards opportunities, safety, and success.
It’s not infighting to say “we should protect the most vulnerable members of our community.” Get a grip.
we need to instill a new storytelling rule of thumb into people called "show don't tweet" where we encourage them to put all pertinent canon information into the actual story and its official supplemental material instead of using reddit AMAs as lore dlcs
I'd say we need to instill a new storyreading rule of thumb into people called "understand that creators have thoughts about their stories that don't make it into the final work because it's a detail irrelevant to the story" but you all already bastardised Chekhov's Gun so fuck it I guess
I must have missed the storytelling rule of thumb where "pertinent information" means "irrelevant information"
Show me literally one published story that is incomprehensible without tertiary information.
Fair warning, if it's from a Neil Breen or Tommy Wiseau type creator, I will laugh at you.
Here
You know what the Doom thing is a good example, thanks.
I'd say the Star Wars sequel production was such a clusterfuck that they were breaking most storytelling rules anyway, and I haven't watched Stranger Things so I can't comment on that.
I am still going to be a little stubborn and say I still don't think it's huge widespread problem like OP is acting like it is.

Way to miss the point and strawman someone you disagree with.
Nowhere was compressibility brought up before you got pissy. Pertinent info and comprehension are not the same. Now take my hand and come with me…
Can we comprehend the basic plot? Yes, it’s that comprehension we are basing this stance on. See, the plot generally is presented in a linear way of cause and effect. However, not all of the causes that would explain the presence of various effects (events) within the story. Using the Star Wars Sequel example… yeah, we comprehend that Palpatine has come back and has a fleet of ships… why are those things explained in social media posts though? Doesn’t that seem like it should warrant a passing line? No mention of how, or why, just… poof, here it all is and it’s supposedly been building since a movie filmed fifty decades ago in the previous century… despite contradicting that same previous narrative. Make it make sense. Make it satisfying.
Or how about Joyce and Hopper “realizing” Vecna was a former classmate off screen, and this was described at a panel, both of these things making it effectively a non-event in the story itself. Like… it’s the basic fundamental story mechanics of many narrative criticisms… such as a Deus Ex Machina. It takes away weight and meaning to story points and narratives.
Tl;dr causes presented and explained outside a work for events inside that same work makes the events vapid and hollow, thus making those causes at best to be narratively meaningless.
Please learn to actually formulate your logic—assuming that’s what you’re going off here—instead of just being an ass to people. From everything I can read you’re one of those pseudo-intellectuals that brow beats people using their “superior” intelligence. Like in your own words you like to point and laugh at someone while framing them as a fallacy… you’re just a pretentious fuck at this point.
"yeah, we comprehend that Palpatine has come back and has a fleet of ships" That's not what comprehenisiblity means.
"Or how about Joyce and Hopper “realizing” Vecna was a former classmate off screen," I don't even know what this is about
Also I don't think you can call someone a pseudo-intellectual if you use the phrase "actually formulate your logic—assuming that’s what you’re going off here"
"Like in your own words you like to point and laugh at someone while framing them as a fallacy" ...those aren't my own words. Did you write this with AI.
I really don't know what you want me to say here, you opened bitching about strawmen and then said a bunch of shit that has nothing to do with what I said.

where tf are you getting "tertiary"? they said "pertinent." you're willfully misunderstanding at this point, and you look like you're just embarrassed to admit you misread the post
"Tertiary information" as in "reddit AMAs", as in "from a tertiary source", as in "give me an example of the thing in the post". If you don't know what words mean it's okay to stop talking or ask for help.
hey why did you say "even if that trans woman did do all that, I don't care"? really just reminds me of how men will protect abusers in their communities and ignore victims. I really don't think that's the look you want.
gotta change the text of the post to make your argument work, huh?
I think it's funny when people are like "what?? 😨😨 you don't care to join in on harassment campaigns of oppressed women you've never met?? this is basically the same thing as how members of the dominant sexgender class under patriarchy hardly get targeted by these campaigns in the first place and are systemically protected from their consequences 🤨🤨🤨"
betting my entire life's savings that if I posted the exact same thing without the word "trans" they'd be like "right onnnnn truuuue!!!!!"
