AO3 has recently seen a wave of comments claiming to be made by the "AO3 Trust & Safety team", notifying you that your account has been restricted. These claims are not true. These comments are not being made by real AO3 volunteers and your account has not been restricted.
AO3 volunteers, including the Policy & Abuse committee, will never communicate with you through comments on your work. All important communications from AO3 will be sent through the email associated with your account. More general announcements will be posted on our official social media accounts or published as news posts on AO3 or OTW.org.
If you receive one of these comments, do not click on any of the links in it, reply to it, or interact with it in any way. The links in these comments lead to sites asking you to verify your identity by providing payment information. This is a common credit card scam. AO3 does not ever ask users to provide payment information, and the Policy & Abuse committee will never comment on your works asking you to "complete an identity verification process".
If you encounter one of these comments or believe your account has been compromised, please view the instructions under the cut!
We suggest that you review your account to verify that you're using a unique and secure password. Check out the advice from our Policy & Abuse committee on Protecting Your AO3 Account and Keeping Your Account Secure.
If you believe your AO3 account has been compromised for any reason (i.e. you received an email that your username changed), you can change or reset your password to ensure control of your account. Changing your password will automatically log you out of all sessions on all devices. You can find the option to change your password in your Preferences.
If you encounter one of these comments on your own work or someone else's, please report them to the Policy & Abuse committee. To do so:
Select the "Thread" button on the scammer's comment. This will take you to the specific comment page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Policy Questions & Abuse Reports.
In the "Brief summary of Terms of Service violation" field, enter "Spambot".
In the "Description of the content you are reporting" field, enter "This is a spambot, their username is USERNAME."
Reporting in this fashion helps us auto-sort your report so that it can be handled as soon as a Policy & Abuse volunteer is available. To help us address reports about these types of bots as fast as possible, please only submit one report per account, and don't include multiple accounts in the same report.
We also encourage you to share this post and help spread the word about how to protect yourself from scammers and reduce spam on AO3.
For more information about spambots on AO3, you can review our News Post on the topic.
i have been drawing this smug bastard for three days.
i like the canon design well enough, but i wanted something a little more... austere? old world nobility with some more "modern" flair. he looks cleaned up for hosting dinners AND can still get out in the field and torment some PCs <3 There's also just a LITTLE bit of tywin lannister in there somewhere i think.
also before you ask, my DM made him 6'5 (195 cm) U////U
feel free to use the design in your game if you want- just please tag me or comment because i'd LOVE to hear people's thoughts ^v^
Sheeeeee’s baaaaack! Hi everyone!!!!! I’m still alive! Real life has been super busy but Ive spent the past few months chipping away at this animation in my absence. On Pinterest, search “[your OC’s name] core” and show us the first six results!
Thanks for the tags @onlytavs and @deianestormborn 💕 Since almost all of these are low resolution pictures, I turned them into tiny moodboards, if you don't mind~
Also, I'm sure I broke Pinterest because after awhile it showed the same pictures for each searches, so I had to skip a few. 🤷
Go on Pinterest and search: lyrics, color, character, place, outfit and aesthetic. You don't have to choose the first one, just scroll until you find one you like.

Parts one, two, three, four, five, six, seven
"Yes. They were well hidden, excellent at obscuring their presence, and despite their precautions I found them at the market and dealt with them when you passed through Aka Way. They put up a reasonable fight in the alley, but I could not interrogate them. Broad daylight, very little time, too many eyes... So I killed them, searched them, and found—" She paused and drank again, and the weight of what came next settled visibly over her. "He had Manshoon's emblem in his pocket."
Gale's face froze as his mind began, with the terrible efficiency she had always admired and occasionally feared, to assemble the implications.
"I recognized the insignia but didn't understand why it mattered. I pocketed it and the seven silver the man had on him, moved the body deeper into the alley, and then my plan fell apart entirely: shouting, windows opening, someone calling out. I changed my appearance, more by instinct than anythind else, to flee in the opposite direction. And that is when Halaster found me."
"You killed your first person in Waterdeep and encountered Halaster Blackcloak," Gale summarized, his voice stripped entirely flat, "during my first week at the Academy."
Celeste chuckled, despite everything. "I did. Before I quite understood what was happening, a door opened, a hand reached for my shoulder, and I was dragged inside. The door closed the moment I landed on my ass, and Halaster laughed at me. Called me an idiot for meddling in a Chosen's affairs."
She grinned briefly at the memory. It had been an extraordinary day, unbelievable to the point of comedy, but extraordinary nonetheless.
"He also lectured me extensively on Waterdavian business acumen and suggested I needed considerably better disguises if I intended to go against the Zhentarim. He proposed working with them instead of against them, and offered me a contact he trusted."
Gale laughed briefly and clearly involuntarily, the sound escaping before he could reclaim it. "And did you? Trust a contact provided by the Mad Mage?"
"I did not. I took the beholder jerky he gave me for Tara, accepted his instruction to say nothing of it to you, and left." She paused, gulping and searching his eyes. "I cannot tell you precisely why I agreed to it. There had never been lies between us before that moment. But some part in me agreed, and I have spent a considerable amount of time since then understanding what that part was."
The room fell quiet. The fire crackled. Celeste pulled one knee closer to her chest, arm wrapped loosely around it.
"I got drawn into it. The secrecy. Navigating a part of Waterdeep that opened itself to me in ways I had not anticipated. Scheming. Listening. Meeting the right people, opening the right doors at precisely the correct moment. Offering a favor here, settling a debt in someone else's name there."
"And yet you did not think you could trust me with any of it." The genuine feeling of disappointment in his voice nearly brought her to tears. Nearly.
"I could have." She admitted without deflection. "But I chose not to. Because I never wanted any of it to touch you. The Urge, what I had done in Baldur's Gate or who I had been and what I was becoming. I did not want those things to exist in the same space as you."
"You considered me incapable of standing beside you in that reality," he huffed, and the scholarly elaboration was entirely gone from his voice now, reduced to something skeletal and honest and far more painful for it. "You determined I was too fragile. Too decent. Too fundamentally removed from the darkness that constitutes your reality to be permitted to witness it."
Her head came up sharply, eyes finding his. His jaw was set again, his posture outwardly composed in the way she had learned, over years of loving him, to recognize as its own kind of fury.
"The exact opposite. You are a good man, Gale. You are my husband. You have always been worthy. Capable and powerful—"
Nothing. No visible reaction. Not even the flicker of acknowledgment she had hoped for.
"I made the conscious choice not to include you," she continued, her voice steadier than she felt. "To keep this from you. I did not want anything I have been or done to touch you."
