Narcissa Black-Porcelain Fists by Ingrid Michaelson
Family Jewels || Lucius & Narcissa
Lucius shuddered at the thought of Narcissa acting like Bellatrix. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her sister, but there was history between them, unbeknownst to Narcissa, but also the fact that Bellatrix scared the living hell out of him certainly didn’t help. He shook his head with a smirk, “No a monkey doesn’t suit you. You’re too pretty to be a monkey… but I daresay you’re right, your sister would certainly hex Rodolphus’ head off if he ever tried to touch her.”
"I suppose you’re right, it couldn’t hurt," he said in reference to Rookwood. It was worth a shot and Narcissa was smarter than her pretty face gave off. She was a trophy wife and the ideal one for Lucius at that. He had only just barely begun to see how appealing married life really was. Sure he could probably still have go with any girl who threw herself at him, but he didn’t really need to. But he certainly wouldn’t turn down an ego boost when he needed it, although Narcissa gave him a good enough boost.
He sighed and smiled at her again, his fingers idly dancing over her knee and thigh as they sat and chatted. “So what’s on my wife’s mind? I hope that you’re happy here…” he said for a moment worried that maybe she wasn’t. There was always that small chance, but he was trying to make sure she was happy.
"Very." Narcissa grinned coyly. She was very happy thus far. Lucius treated her like a princess and she was safe. There was no reason for Narcissa to be afraid, which is more than she could say for over half her life. Marrying Lucius was definitely the best thing her parents ever made her do. Lucius made her happy, which is all she could ask for. Little people was as lucky as she.
"Actually... I was wondering.." Narcissa began nervously before pausing. She maneuvered herself so she could lay her head on Lucius' shoulder and curl her arms around the one that was grazing her leg. "Well we haven't really talked about family yet. I mean, when do you want to start one? I know I have to give you an heir but, well, I would like a girl too."
All Narcissa ever wanted was a happy marriage and two, maybe three, healthy children of her own. Clearly the first part is going good and now she just had to wait a while for the second. She and Lucius had talked about a lot of things but the topic of family never seemed to come up. Narcissa had no idea how Lucius felt about having children, when he wanted them and how many. Perhaps he didn't even want children other than the needed heir.
I h-hate this stuff...
Th-that’s true. This is a b-bad idea. What happened to the person? What d-did they do, exactly?
I cannot entirely remember. Some potion or spell went wrong because they did not study hard enough.
Knock knock
Ah, okay I think that’s enough talk about how skilled his hands are, otherwise I don’t think I can bare to shake his hand again.
Well that’s a relief to hear, I promise you. Lucius isn’t a man whom you wouldn’t be lucky to have; handsome, wealthy and kind. My, my sister, I think you’re making me warm to him even more than I had been before. He should treat you no less than royalty and I’m glad to hear he is.
Andy! i didn't mean it like that. I merely meant that he gives good massages. Although...
I am a very lucky woman. At first I didn't entirely warm to the idea of him for a husband but now - well like you said, he treats me like a princess and that is all that matters.
Tea?
You ought to have the creature beheaded and stuffed as Bellatrix insisted we do with ours. That elf was serving the Lestrange family when my father was still in his cradle, but that’s what marriage is about, is it not? The sacrifices?
I am willing to pour you tea, not to cook and clean by myself. The elf might be useless but it does have its advantages. Besides, I am just waiting for my personal elf to come to the manor.
What? You sacrifice and she demands? I know my sister. She will not sacrifice anything for anybody.
Knock knock
And here I thought a smitten Hufflepuff couldn’t be exceeded. Â
Wrong to barge in on your husband?  Merlin, I don’t even like my own husband at the moment… and I see no problem walking in on him.  It isn’t as if Lucius’ wand and snitches are something we you haven’t seen before.Â
Bella! It just seems... Wrong, still. it is going to take me some time to get used to seeing... Any part of a naked man.
You seem to forget that I haven't been with a man other than Lucius.
Tea?
I’m not in much of an alcohol mood… So I’ll take coffee. But if you could put some firewhiskey in it.
Sweet digs you got here.
Here you go.
Hm, yes. The manor is quite lovely. A little big but I am sure I will survive.Â
Tea?
Little hard to worry about shaving when I was being chased around by Death Eaters. Grew to like it. You don’t think it makes me look mature?
Personal hygiene is essential, no matter who you are or who is chasing you.
You look like somebody who has not seen a comb, shower or decent food in some time... I almost feel sorry for you, and that is saying something.
I h-hate this stuff...
b-but th-there’s nothing t-to do. What’s the w-worst that c-could happen?
The last time somebody said that they had to wait five years for their hair to regrow.
Tea?
Had enough of what? Coffee’d be fine. I just came to say hello.
Alcohol... Or it could just be that beard making you look like a hobo... When last have you seen a razor?
Tea?
Got anything stronger, cousin?
Haven't you had enough yet? Coffee is the strongest you will get from me.
Knock knock
Are you really talking about Lucius Malfoy here? Impressive. Maybe he really is a teddy bear deep down. Or maybe you’re just good at persuading him. I’m reluctant to ponder too long on what your persuasion techniques may just be.
Hmm, well I hope that isn’t the case. It’s not that bad for me to occasionally throw out a harmless insult or two when I don’t mean it, but not so much if you end up agreeing with them.Â
Actually, I didn't do anything. He just came to sit next to me and the next thing I know he began rubbing my feet. Not that I will complain though. His hands are rather skilled.
I can see he is trying just as hard to make this marriage work... Oh Andy, he is so - so sweet and caring and he tries to make me as comfortable as possible.
Tea?
Did your husband’s elf perish in the battle? This is no job for a witch as noble as yourself.Â
I am up now so I could just as well do it. Anyway, if you waited for Dobby to do it half the tea would be spilled all over your robes by now.
Tea?
When have you known me to drink tea, cousin? Save for the times Mother tried to make me have a taste for it.
Oh yes, forgive me. Lately people seem to only want tea. Would you like some coffee instead, cousin? Or will Firewhiskey tickle your fancy a little more?
Tea?
DAY 9:Â Who does your character trust?
Throughout her life Narcissa made the mistake of trusting people which only let to heartbreak later on. After some time she learned that there were only two people whom she could really trust. These two were her older sisters, Bellatrix and Andromeda. Both of her sisters meant the world to her and she knew they would do anything for her. Never have they done anything to betray her trust nor have they tried hurting her. There is only one thing that she feels she can't tell them because she was afraid of what they would think of her but, other than that, she has never felt as secure anywhere as in their company...
Though it seems like Narcissa is quickly learning to trust her husband too. But it would take a lot of time and work before she can entirely trust him.
