It is funny with bigotry where people unaffected by it act like that somehow disproves it. At an old job, talked to HR about a co-worker who kept calling me a faggot, and the HR person was like "Are you sure? He's never said anything like that to me."
Gee, Hetero Jessica, he's never called you a faggot? Then I must have misheard him!
Weird idea I had that's VERY unlikely but what if in Miss Holloween Abigail somehow becomes Miss Holloway. Like maybe Abigial's actually a bigger character outside of 'Duke's Fiance'.
The idea is that Holloway dies for real during the climax, and Abigail somehow manages to get in contact with the Lords or something, maybe asking spefically Tinky to make it so that she goes back in time and makes it so that she makes the deal instead of Holloway. Thing is that gets her stuck in the past, but unlike Ted she tries to make something of it. She'll stop being boring from now on. She joins a band, but that ends up falling through and she has to take on a new idenity. So she starts using her powers to help people. At some point she meets Duke again and they start working together.
Again, this is really messy and probably really unlikely to happen but it's super fun to thing about.
Spitballing based on this. What if this was always what happened? It's like a timeloop solution where Abigail always goes back and unknowingly 'replaces' herself, adding an extra layer of tragedy to her relationship with Duke. They were engaged once. She was living a normal life with the man she loved and she had to sacrifice it. And she knows one day, the loop will complete, and it'll all begin again
Oh YES that would be so intresting and also deeply heartbreaking. I love it.
This would have had me crucified on tumblr 10 years ago but maybe we are ready for this conversation now:
If you are a socially anxious person, you have to socialize. Your panic/anxiety attacks will only get worse and trigger more frequently if you constantly avoid contact with The Public. Not saying that you need to be a social butterfly- but there is a genuine problem with not being able to order your own meal at a restaurant. And it cannot be solved by always having someone else do it for you.
This is a PSA to about 3/4s of the Portland Youth populace
everyone who reblogs this and is like "I ordered my own tea this week" or "I only barfed once when I had to give a presentation'- you are doing amazing sweetie. Have patience with yourself, you are relearning a skill so difficult that people get 4 year degrees to do it professionally.

drag has anonymity. it has history. it's a second identity. it's wordplay. it's flamboyancy. it's performance. it's comedy. it's rejecting societal norms and expectations. it's having fun. no one can convince me it wouldn't awaken something in him
[the articles i stole from: one, two, three ]
You read Wretched of the Earth and how the colonizer has PTSD from torturing the colonized and the former has a panic attack upon seeing a former victim while the latter desperately tries to kill himself to avoid recapture and I think it's right to ask: Am I really supposed to pity the former?
[Speaking slowly, gently, as though trying not to scare a startled horse] Now. Consider. The US military
To be clear I am not saying Fanon is attempting to elicit sympathy for the colonizer. I mean "Am I supposed to feel sorry for them" in an aghast way because the colonizer, who is suffering, feels he deserves sympathy. You see it again and again, all throughout history, and even now people complain about how traumatized they are from murdering civilians. How even in the end, in their eyes, the true victim is the perpetrator who lives rather than the dead person who is "at peace." As though any number of extenuating personal circumstances is supposed to make your guilt weigh more than the actual harms other people have experienced at your hands. As though people overseas wouldn't also like to go to college, would like to afford a house, would like to escape poverty. It's infuriating!
