Crimson Refuge

Kasim eyed the stranger up and down, evaluating everything he could from appearance alone. It was a bit difficult, blood was starting to get into one of his eyes, and that shit burned. He took a deep breath from his cigarette and exhaled the smoke as he spoke. “Been worse,” he said, wholly meaning it as he continued to stare at the stranger. “I don’t exactly have health insurance. I’m a little bit off the grid,” he stated, licking his lips.
“You know a guy?” Kasim laughed, coughing as he did. “I’m not internally bleeding or any of that shit. I think I would know if I was. I’m just a little…what did you say? Fucked up.” Kasim pushed himself off the wall, struggling to balance for a second before he tentatively advanced on the stranger. “How’m I supposed to trust you? I don’t know you from Adam.”
“Looks like someone has a hard time making friends.” Looking down the alley behind him Yeong sighs. “Aren’t we all?” That’s what Asteria was. A place to remain hidden. Or...that’s what it was for his family. Looking back at the male he quirks a brow. “Asteria is just a breeding ground of fucked up troubled souls. Just broken people pretending they aren’t broken.” Rubbing the back of his neck he shakes his head slightly. “Anyway...” Trailing off he lifts his brows.
“He owes me a favor. Living here for years can lead to that.” Watching him walk forward Yeong raises a hand. “Look I don’t know who you decided to piss off, but it could very well not be in my best interest to help you.” He doubted it was anyone he knew, but there was always a slim chance it could have been. Shaking his head he sighs. “Besides, if I wanted to hurt you, I could have done so by now.” Sliding the hand into his pocket he looks over the shoulder of the other. “So, what’s your choice?”
